If the ball hits you in the process of a swing, that is a strike. We have seen a lot of batters k on a pitch hitting them this year. If they deem it as hitting him and not foul, then it is a strike.

Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that if the batter is ruled to have swung his bat and the ball hits him, it is a strike.

Should have still been a strike. The batter swung but it wasn't called by the 3rd base ump. It can hit you in the head, but if you swing it's a strike.
Whatever we gave up for Turd Ferguson...it was too much.

Okay, fair enough explanation, but obviously it was a swing. But at least that makes sense.
