An all time legend moment today on astrosdaily

1988 - Larry Andersen closes out a 4-1 loss to the Kansas City Royals. It was number 42 but it didn't look like Andy and, in fact, it wasn't. It's Dave Smith, who forgot to pack his jersey for the short bus trip. Andersen bought an unmarked jersey at a concession stand so as to not be missed in the bullpen. The stunt leads to a fine for both players.

While he is mostly remembered as the guy who got traded for Bagwell, Larry Andersen was an all-time favorite of my family. Hilarious.

And even better, he once egged dirty t-sip Spike Owen in the head.

And taunting some children during the playoffs between the Phillies and the Braves.

The frustration is - if you wanted Altuve to play LF, why didn't he start working on it in January?

There is literally video evidence of him doing just that at MMP in the offseason.

Is anyone going up to the Team store today to get a new city connect jersey? I may want to use you as a proxy

Starting to feel like our medical team has no idea how to bring guys back from TJ. It feels like we take longer much longer than most teams, but maybe I'm just only focused on us.

news about Garcia has been slim to none. This might go back a while.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

For about 2 weeks...before he gets shut down again for elbow soreness.

I don't know what it is going to take for the Astros organization to realize that they have a problem somewhere when it comes to pitcher rehab procedures/protocols.

Arm injuries are inherently tricky and can be roller coasters in rehab, that much is absolutely true. No one player's story or struggles is a red flag in itself.

But when was the last pitcher to rehab a major injury within our organization that did NOT have major setbacks and an overall rehab timeline much longer than the major league average?

Something stinks. It should not take every arm injury within our org 2+ years to get back on a mound.

Even when healthy, I think Garica is the odd man out of the rotation unless it's a six-man rotation. Even then he has to beat out Wesneski. Ketch has mentioned before some see Garcia as a potential high-end bullpen piece. He might be a nice mid-season bullpen addition.

I think part of it with Garcia is also likely to be that he is trying to come back into a pitching motion that was pretty new to him at the time of the original injury. He was having to learn a completely new "no rocking the baby" motion to deal with the new pitch clock at the time and I doubt he ever had the mechanics of it fully worked out before he got injured. So unlike somebody like LMJ who can come back and pick up their old familiar motion and then tweak it to make it better and less taxing on their arm, Garcia is coming back into a motion he is probably still trying to figure out, and that probably isn't helping to minimize the strain on his elbow.

This is all because MLB made him quit rocking the baby.

This is nice but I wish it had the STROS or the new star logo on it instead of HTX. Looks too much like a Texans polo to me

As far as the has go for the new merch - they made one with flying H logo, which is cool, but man, I wish it was side and back paneled navy like the A hat. That would probably be the CC hat I would buy if available.

Verlander came back from TJ without any major setbacks and pitched well.

After all the setbacks with McCullers, maybe the Astros are just overly cautious with any soreness during the rehab process.

Javier is the next to track. Urquidy, too, but he's now with Detroit, so he'll probably be pitching by the All-Star break.

He's bad at 2B in a way that is imperceptible during a broadcast.

He didn't make a ton of errors or misplays, he just wasn't able to get to as many of the groundballs that average MLB 2B do. Those hits really start to add up.

He is (at the moment) bad at LF in a way that is very perceptible. This could spiral into a huge media narrative and mental obstacle for Tuve.

He's going to play 81 games in a very controlled environment at home and 81 in everything from indoors to outdoors. It won't be anything like a purely open ST stadium.
hope he doesn't get rabbit ears in the other 81

the fans can give it more directly to a left fielder than a middle infielder

You can definitely foresee a ton of batters sprinting on singles to left and daring Altuve to throw them out.
