If he lays off a slider & takes a walk, he gets $1K.

I'm dreaming, but make it happen Dana…Framber, Presley, Meyers, and Melton for Vlad Jr and Manoah all contingent on Framber and Vlad Jr signing extensions with their new teams. Salaries are close. Vlad Jr extension would kick in after Montero and Abreu are off the books at the end of 2025. I believe Click loved him some Meyers while here and drafted Melton. I've read Toronto front office values pitching and defense over hitting so this would fit that philosophy. I also believe the Astros pitching lab could fix Manoah and get him back to where he was before. We then slide Vlad Jr in at 3B and use Parades like Ketch said we would have if Bregman re-signed here.

We're just barely over. We need to shed around ~8 M to 1. Get under 2. Stay under with minor moves thru the year. And big deadline get would likely push us over.

This is so dumb. He didn't play for the Cubs last year but the Cubs have to argue against him in arbitration.

As much as I liked him playing RF, I'm kind of glad we don't have to deal with that clown show at the end of next season. Dana made a really good deal.

Weird that he wouldn't entertain an extension.

If the cubs offer 400M+ you gonna say no?

A lot can happen in 1 year. He could have a bad injury. He could have a really poor/cold year.

I get "betting on yourself" but the amount of greed seems to really cloud the judgment of some players, not realizing the risks involved in this sport.

Same goes for Bregman too on a smaller scale.

I enjoyed having Tucker here, but for him it is just a job that pays really well that he does good at. (At least seems, I dont know the guy). He will play where the money is best, make his money and then go do something else. I can understand that all day long and actually respect it. Everyone knew the last couple years he would not stay here.

The ones that sting are the ones that get engrained into the city and you think they are going to be here for the long haul and bounce for a couple extra mil.

Altuve is a special player that doesn't put money above everything else. I wish he could have talked sense to his boy.

Oh well. For some reason I get vibes that Alvarez is a lot like Altuve and seems to want to stay here without demanding the absolute best offer

Your read on Yordan is spot on from what I've heard. Haven't met him but from what I've heard he's one of the nicest guys in baseball and he values living in a place where he's comfortable over crazy amounts of money.. hence the team friendly deal he signed.
