The article specifically mentions he's never played outfield, and he's coming off knee surgery. It would certainly be quite a risk to put him out in left field given all those facts.

I don't hate the Polanco idea.

He will likely have a nice bounce-back year as he played thru an injury and played at the worst hitter's park in baseball last year.

He should come fairly cheap.

He kind of makes Dubon expendable.... not sure if he can still reasonably play SS.

He's the Switch hitter our offense needs.

Definitely like that he's a switch hitter. The lineup is starting to look very heavily slanted towards right handers, especially now that we have dealt Tucker.

I just don't understand why we would bring in another Infielder if it's not Bregman? Is moving Jose to LF something that is going to happen regardless? Because I understand why he would be willing to move to bring Breggy back. I don't understand why we would bring Jorge on and still play Polanco or Altuve out of their natural position.

He would but things change

Polanco might be one of the few players who is a worse 2B than Altuve. I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on his bat but he is gonna be a turd defensively wherever you put him.

Altuve may need to move to LF anyway maybe? Maybe the org think it is time to move off of 2B regardless of Bregman?

From what I understand is he's not GG caliber but also not a liability.

I think Polanco would qualify as a lability.

I have been operating under the idea that it is Bregman or bust in the sense that Crane won't go into the tax unless it is for him.

But adding Polanco and Verdugo would be not only be significantly cheaper but would improve the roster much more.
