Not really. Baez might turn out to be a big leaguer, the other is a project, and I have never heard of the other guy.it was a good get at that price.

ETA: SS and 3B is locked for the foreseeable future

They overpaid for Rogers as well. Seems like win this year or bust.

They can afford to buy prospects so it's not that big of deal.

When they traded Verlander and Scherzer in a lost season after just signing them to high $ deals, they bought additional prospects by covering most of those players' salary in the trades (despite being well over the tax).

So it's much easier for the Mets to restock the farm. It's good to be a rich club, which the Mets finally are.

For his sake, hopefully it's nothing. This was always the risk with him pitching this year. If he misses significant time as a hitter the rest of the season, a lot of questions will be asked.
