Well I'm away from my ex which is good. But is this first I've ever been apart from my kids. It is gut-wrenching. I don't know people do it. Think I slept about 2 hours last night. But I just have to get through today and worry about the rest as it comes.

He's on an expiring contract so if they think he's gonna walk then you make a deal.

Plus everyone should always be shopped. If someone wants to pay their ass off then you take it.

If we would've given them Spencer, Brice, and another prospect that's a pretty damn good haul for a guy leaving your team next season.

The crazy thing about the trade deadline is it is ALL about overpaying. Teams in the hunt sacrifice the future to win now, and teams out of the playoff chase play them against each other to maximize the value of their few pieces.

That's what makes what Crane and Brown did today so incredible. We filled a ton of holes and lost so little.

Rather impressive pulling two controllable major league players for Gusto and three lesser prospects.

Dana got the left handed bat he coveted in Sanchez who rakes against righty pitching.

Urias a proven major league player, definitely more productive than any of the AAAA infielders they've been trotting out all season.

Money isn't an issue but it means we get worse draft compensation for Framber (4th rounder instead of 2nd) but bigger impact is if we sign a guy with a qualifying offer like Walker we get drilled with loss of 2nd and 5th highest pick plus lose $1M of roughly $6.4M in international free agency money. We want to avoid that at all cost.
