I was surprised to see that Carlos has not played a single inning at third (or any position other than shortstop) in his professional career.

I don't think it's gonna be a problem, but I assumed he had played there at least a game or two for the Twins or in the minors.

Now we're down to CF with whatever rotation of Trammell/Melton/Chas firmly ensconced in the 9 hole until Jake returns.

McCormick is just lost, nothing new, with Jake locking that down and Melton knocking at the door Chas seems on his way out. Not surprised they couldn't find a taker even with an arb year left.

He played 3rd in the World Baseball Classic.

We were at our best when he did. It allowed us to be our most aggressive.

You could put him at the bottom/double leadoff and do the same thing.

Yeah, been watching. Goofiest thing I've ever seen. Reds had allowed 11 straight after leading 3-0.

Yeah I think Walker or Correa end up batting lower

No breaks with this lineup, then you have a bench with Caratini, Dubon, Urias, and Sanchez/Cam (if Joe goes with platoon in playoffs)

Money isn't an issue but it means we get worse draft compensation for Framber (4th rounder instead of 2nd) but bigger impact is if we sign a guy with a qualifying offer like Walker we get drilled with loss of 2nd and 5th highest pick plus lose $1M of roughly $6.4M in international free agency money. We want to avoid that at all cost.


True… but a 3rd title will soften that blow quite a bit
