100%. It's the only pattern that holds for this team.

But that's assuming they manage to win tomorrow even.

Trying to rebuild on the fly is a tall order

Back from Africa. Looks like I didn't miss much...
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

Christian Walker from 2022-24 had an OPS over .800 and various other gaudy stats

When that guy shows up will be very welcome

Hopefully it's not "if"

Maybe Elon Musk will buy the team and spend eleventy-billion on hitters and left fielders taller than 5'-4".

In 20 years his spawn could actually fill the field.

He would just bring Luhnow back

Go back in time and your future self appears and tells you all these guys are gone and you assume it's back to a rebuild

Correa
Springer
Bregman
Tucker
Yuli
JV
Cole

When Correa left I think I was the #1 conductor of the sign Kris Bryant hype train.

Boy was I wrong

Current OPS for 3-4-5 hitters:

.653
.525
.401

Altuve showing up at .748 OPS, literally love the guy

Paredes is producing at .801, not wow but generally like what we're seeing, feels like on right track

Don't need to look further than the 3-4-5 for source of offensive struggles

the warning signs were there

but many GM's suffer terribly from confirmation bias

they focus primarily on the stats or trends that would support a mega-contract for a given player

Last year through 16 games Walker was slashing 300/417/467/884 with 3 HRs

I get he didn't have a spring training this year but he's kinda been in the league a while

In the hey he's a pro he'll figure it out perspective in 2023 he started 186/231/322/553 with 2 HRs in first 16 games and finished with 258/333/497/830 with 36 doubles, 33 HRs and 103 RBIs

Since Manfred is all about changing a game that is 150 years old

How about teams get to drop their worst month when determining which clubs make the playoffs? Kinda like some (soft azz) profs these days drop the kids lowest exam grade.

For the Astros it would be auto April but sometimes it used to be August

Tucker at 315/438/630/1068 with 5 HRs 8 doubles and 18 RBIs through 19 games with the National League club in Chicago

I'm thinking maybe we should hire this STL hitting coach.

I dont know how big of a problem Cintron is. I dont think he has done much for himself as far as giving anyone much hope.

but Christian Walker is 35 years old. you dont forget how to hit in one season because of a hitting coach.

I'll take it. Peña is my pick for someone to have a 20/20 season other than Altuve.

Performances like last night is why I'm saying 'Nah' on a huge contract extension for Framber. 1 or 2 good starts followed by a meltdown seems to be the new trend. Trade him at the deadline to get some pieces and extend HB.

It's deja vu all over again with early last year.

Just like the Abreu experiment.

Somebody is giving it to him. The question really should have been are you better off taking the last year of Framber plus a draft pick or trading him. I personally would have traded him but I get that Dana is trying to thread a fine needle. I think Dana is ultimately making it harder on himself not just ripping off the bandaid.

I was in favor of trading him this past offseason. I mentioned Baltimore needing pitching and they are loaded with prospects. But, I was "ok" with keeping him, knowing that we could trade him at the deadline if we are out of it. Problem is you can actually hear his trade value go down after performances like last night.
MaxPower

His trade value will be strong. The problem is that we are still going to be in contention for a crap division even if we are .500. I don't see Dana as willing to handle the smoke that comes with the optics of that trade.

I think we should trade Framber at the deadline regardless. LMJ is the big question mark. If he gets back and is dependable, then it won't sting as much. I'd be ok with a rotation of HB, LMJ, Blanco, Spaghetti and Wesneski.

If they trade Framber It would be the first time in this 8 year run that we would trade away a huge piece from the roster at the deadline right?

If we're in contention for the division you'd want to trade away a piece and not compete for it? That seems like crazy talk. The goal is to win a title. You gotta make October to do that.

Knowing the current leadership, I think we'll end up shipping away the last remaining below average prospects we have for renting Justin Verlander for the rest of the year.

Y'all are going to look up in a couple years and realize that not only are the golden years long in the rearview, but that we poorly mismanaged a chance at a quicker rebuild and will have to do it the hard way again.

Well you gotta be able to hit the ball and win consecutive games to do that. So if the entire strategy is "hope the division is ass again," contingency plans would be useful.

some of yall crapping on Framber need to chill. the dude has a 2.80 ERA in his last twenty starts dating back to last year.

Yes, we all know he can get in his head at times, but he's a legit top 5 LHP MLB starter.
