Our best bet to sneak in is going to be the Red Sox taking 2/3 against the Tigers and us sweeping the Angels. Not impossible but not likely.

We have 74 losses they have 73. We'd be up a game. With the Tigers winning tonight I think this is our most likely way of getting in if we do.

The final weekend of regular season baseball is finally here.
The Astros, despite all their futility, can still make the playoffs with 2 wins over the hapless Angels.
If the Astros win 2 against the Angels then they need...
1) Detroit to lose 3 games at Boston OR
2) Cleveland to lose 3 games vs Texas
If the Astros sweep the Angels then they need...
1) Detroit to lose 2 games at Boston OR
2) Cleveland to lose 2 games vs Texas OR
3) Detroit to sweep Boston
I have no idea which scenario has the best odds though none of them is very good.

I'd say us sweep and Detroit to lose 2 is most likely of the options

I can't stop laughing at the thought of us sweeping anything but the locker room floor Monday morning.
But having said that I'm praying this happens. Partly because it's playoff baseball and anything can happen but mostly if some how some way this team makes it, Sparky will be one lit up mofo in that locker room afterwards.

Me too… it's hard to imagine. I'm just saying of the slim scenarios, the rangers sweeping Cleveland won't happen… and Detroit/boston getting swept likely won't either
So am I reading this right. Say we win Fri/Sat. If Boston wins the first two and gets a real lead in the Sunday game do we have to lose that game to get in assuming the Cle/Ranger series is not going our way.
I know games are essentially played at the same time but that could be crazy if what we needed (win or loss) relied on the result of the other game.

If that first part happens it's win and in on Sunday no matter. Detroit would have 75 losses. We'd still have 74.
Problem is, as mentioned above, Boston could win that first game to clinch then rest everybody.

With 3 days to go, we are down to 5 people left who can win Astros Bingo 2025.
Marvin, who has 10
wmitchell, Chief Elko and myself, who all have 9
ntouch, who has 7, but can still hit 10.
Of course, since Marvin and I rendered ourselves ineligible the day we started by each putting up $50 for prize money, that means that Elko, wmitchell, and ntouch all have a shot at some cash money.
Ironically, Marvin and I are the only ones who can reach 11 squares.

- Walker 90+ RBI - he had 3 today to reach 85.
- Somebody goes 20/20. This only has a chance if Pena returns this weekend and hits 3 HR
- Tucker 25 HR. He's at 22, but coming back on Friday to the Cubs lineup.
- Rafael Montero <> 4.50 ERA. he's at 4.58 for the final series of the year.
- Christian Walker 25+ HR - He hit #24 today.
- Aaron Judge 55+ HR - He will have to hit 4 this weekend.
Walker up to 24 HR and 85 RBI
that should generate some interest across the league so Dana can deal him
might not have to chip in too much salary since Walker's next team would only be committing to 2 years
