To be fair it's not too hard to pitch to this team right now. There's no secret special approach to it.

Maldy - Alright guys this series we just need to throw the ball. Literally just throw the ball. Really...Anywhere in the general direction of the hitter and we'll be fine.

We're 18th in the league in swinging at pitches outside the zone.

Arizona, Boston, & Chicago swing at pitches outside the zone the most.

I had that pulled up too but decided y'all wouldn't like it. We were more 10-15 range. Seattle, Arlington, Dodgers were all bottom 5.

His fastball tick is up a tick this year. That was always the concern with him. Good secondary stiff, good movement in fastball but more in the 93 mph range, which is below average these days. He's getting more consistently into the 94-95 range this year. He hasn't thrown more than 80 pitches in a game this year so that's the next step. Can he retain that stuff throwing 95+ pitches?

I wish that as Altuve ages he decided to start chasing more walks instead of more hits. He should be able to walk a ridiculous amount given his size and that's a much bigger advantage than him swinging at everything to try and chase some lofty hit number

I still remember when him hitting a homerun was shocking because he was strictly a singles/doubles hitter from 2012-2015

You do you that, generally, you perform best against the opposite arm, right? Therefore, you want as many match ups like that as possible. It's not going to turn Jake in Judge. But it'll help.

True, but almost our entire lineup is hitting well below their career splits versus righties, including our lone lefty, so it doesn't really explain our struggles.

You include post season i bet altuve makes up likely half a season
