Honestly the Yankees do this every year… first half of the season they crush the ball at home. Remember back in 2022 they were on like a 125 win pace for the first half and then hit a brick wall

In the 9th, Red Sox, made a bit of run. scored a couple. Had a guy on 2nd with two out, Devers up. He walked.

Bregs followed, repping tying run at the plate:





Popped up in infield , game over!

R Sox now 1-4.

Dubon is probably better defensively at 2B and LF. But if we are going to bring him in for defense in a close game, I would rather have Altuve stay in the game to keep his bat available.

I went to a game with my dad in 87 where Nolan struck out 16 Giants in 8 innings. I have no idea how many pitches he threw in that game, but I am pretty sure he hit either 99 or 100 striking out Chili Davis who came in to pinch hit. Davis was so frustrated, he broke his bat over his knee when he struck out. Nolan also went 2/3 with an RBI in a 4-2 win.

If you have a ground ball pitcher starting, you play Dubon at 2B. If you have a flyball pitcher, you play him in LF. Wherever they expect more balls to go, the play Dubon in that position is my guess.
