Yeah, what is up with that? Unless it's the $750MM in contracts they have between SS and 2B
DeGrom makes more than those two this year

The Houston Astros are now bracing themselves to be without third baseman Isaac Paredes for at least 6 to 7 months with his torn hamstring. The hope is that he can be ready by opening day, 2026.

The Toronto Blue Jays, who have aggressively been searching for a starter, now are on the verge of acquiring Guardians starter Shane Bieber, as @jonmorosi reports.

Sandy Alcantara’s trade chances are rising with his stock. The former Cy Young winner didn’t allow a run in his last two starts and seems to be regaining his old form #fish

RHP Khal Stephen, expected to go to Cleveland in the Shane Bieber deal, is one of the biggest pop-up prospects of 2025. While his fastball tops out in the mid-90s, he's got the sort of pitchability that Cleveland has developed with extreme success. A 2.08 ERA in 91.2 IP in 2025.

The Ramon Urias trade is perfect. We get another slightly less versatile Dubon, for $3 million bucks and gave up a Single A prospect.
Slightly less versatile Dubon may not sound sexy, but it beats the hell outta Short or any of the other AAA players we're rotating around.

Man I knew he wouldn't be back but that's shocking

I'm sure we knew the whole time, but we're hoping to keep it under wraps until after the deadline.

Yup. Now its leverage against us.

I don't think so anymore now that we have Urias to fill in on defense.

In real time, this was my favorite trade the Astros ever pulled off. Verlander was awesome, but we hadn't won anything yet so it just felt like maybe a repeat of the Randy Johnson 1998 deal… But this trade really felt like we were going to win it all again. And in hindsight, having Greinke on the Astros from 2019-2021 was so much fun and I took it for granted
The Ramón Urías trade is official. The Astros also received cash considerations from the Orioles

The fact that we didn't win it all in 2019 is absurd
That's still the one that will haunt us.

I'll always contend that the 4 we played in evened out.
We won one we should have against Philly
We won one we shouldn't have against LA
We lost one we should have against Atlanta
We lost one we shouldn't have against Wash

Going to the game last Sunday and I look at the pennant/WS flags and it bothers me. There should be, to me, only one pennant flag and 4 WS flags. 2019 sticks out the most, but so does 2018.
