I wouldn't call getting hit with a fastball on the wrist a fundamental baseball function. You could call him injury prone sure, but it sounds like the team is just being precautious with his neck. Pre game show said he would be good to go in 3 or 4 days but the team wanted him to get extra time to put it to bed since it's so early in the season.

You're thinking of 2023 where he caught a ball that contacted the palm of the glove. He missed most of last year after taking a fastball off the wrist thanks to POS Phil Maton.

I absolutely think Jung is injury prone ...the thumb issue happened in August of '23 and he missed the final two months so that wasn't last season.

Last season was the broken wrist after being hit. But he's had a multitude of other injuries. In '22 he injured himself lifting weights and missed almost the entire season. In '24 he missed most of spring training with a leg injury.

Some of this stuff was freakish, but enough of it isn't that it suggests he is, at a minimum, somewhat brittle.

I was at the game and just got home. Great seeing Langford and Garcia with the homers. Is there any word on Josh Smith? I expected him in the lineup today, especially since Seager and Jung didn't play.

Was at the game today and it was great seeing de Grom pitch. I think I would have liked another inning out of him but I do understand managing the pitch count.

I have one gripe: Luke Jackson comes out to some stylized version of Madonna's, "Like a Prayer." It completely deflates the crowd coming into a game in the bottom of the 9th with a 1 run lead. Now, this is a small complaint, and I knownthis is Jackson's call, bit man up and blast some Metallica, AC/DC, Pantera, something besides Madonna for goodness sake.

End of rant. I love any ballpark and any baseball game, especially the Rangers. Today, my brother and I attended our first Rangers game together in 30+ years. He just retired from the Army and moved to the Dallas area. Our last trip was the early 90s. I was 16 or 17 and he was 13 or so. We went to Hooters before the game and got him a t-shirt signed by the the waitresses. He wore it to school the next Monday and got sent home for wearing a vulgar tshirt. My, how times have changed.

Completely agree. I was there Friday and they played that crap and everyone had their camera lights on. It's lame and pretty ghey. A closer is supposed to be a bad ass not some Madonna thumper.

Just thinking this morning, we were a bad 9th inning pitch and a hot Boston hitter away from sweeping this series.
