Probably, but I'd consider keeping Ornelas. At least we know he can field his position.

Ornelas is a journeyman that knows his role. Duran is trade bait imho. He needs at bats.

Difference between the two is Duran also plays the OF. Ornelas is strictly an infielder, not even sure if he plays 1B...more of a 2B/SS/3B guy. Duran's hitting has been bad, but he does provide more defensive flexibility than Ornelas. And let's not act like Ornelas is the 2nd coming of Tony Gwynn, he can't hit for crap...that's what has kept him in the minors, his bat not his glove. Just food for thought.

Hoping we can get at least 4 solid innings from Rocker tonight.

He's currently striking out in Round Rock.

He hasn't played in a few games. I suspect they have him taking batting practice and trying to get his timing & swing mechanics straight.

I'm really surprised they didn't send him lower and let him slowly work his timing and confidence back or at least to Frisco so that he's also near the big club.

wouldn't surprise me if that happens eventually, if he continues to struggle at AAA. He needs to be where the least pressure is to get himself pulled back together.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. I don't think it's too much to say that we need to reprogram how we view him now and moving forward. He's 100% a prospect again.

Young guy who didn't play for a year and had back issues. As long as the back is good I'm confident he'll get it figured out.

This is my "I told you so" moment. Back in '23, almost everyone on here was clamoring to bring Carter up. I kept saying it was a mistake to rush him, because he hadn't really played a whole lot (still hasn't for that matter). He wound up having that magic & historic run leading up to the playoffs and then through the WS. But then the injury combined with the league now having tape on him and here we are.

He's still young, he still hasn't played a whole lot, and it's still a huge, huge mistake to rush players to the majors before they're entirely ready. And that's exactly what happened here. Hopefully we didn't ruin yet another prospect like we have in the past (David Clyde on line one).
