" Hard to know who to root for down the stretch"

There are too many teams in contention for the the AL WC spots to really worry about it. Just need to win (easier said than done of course). There are at least 6, possibly 7 teams in the AL contending for 3 WC spots.

Rangers have a tough stretch upcoming against teams that currently have a playoff spot (Brewers, Mets, Asstros). Need to find a way to win 2 of 3 against the Brewers, but of course they currently have the best record in baseball. At least it is in Arlington.

Houston has 3 left vs Seattle, and only 18 games left overall... So for them both to fall below the Royals/Indians for WC3 would take an unbelievable thread of the needle.

Thanks for this. I was looking at Tampa. They've been surging, but they have a brutal stretch to end the season. Don't think they will make it

The next 4 series for HOU will make or break them. That's a tough stretch of games. ATL is out of it, but they will still beat you. And HOU has proven they play down to their competition.

SEA and KC seem like they will probably play .500 baseball to close out their schedules.

The next 9 games for the Rangers. Woof. Have to steal some against MIL and NYM, somehow.

You are correct

With their remaining schedule, they are a virtual lock for the 1 seed in the NL. Not saying they will or even should, but perhaps they take their foot off the gas slightly?

Rangers have a lot to play for and are playing hard. Every game matters for them at this point

How does everyone see the rangers record going in last 18 and what do yall think gets them in?

I think .500 is likely with this schedule. I think they need 12-6 to get in. I just have a hard time seeing this group playing .667 balls for three weeks with this offense. Hope I'm wrong!

I think we will hang tough but it's going to take a meltdown by either Houston or Seattle to get in.

I think we go 10-8 and we miss out by 1 game. Really we miss by 2 because Seattle takes WC3 with the tiebreaker over us.

I say we split 3-3 against Mil/NYM. 2-1 in Houston. 7-2 against Min/Mia/Cle. That's 12-6, 86 wins. That will be tight. Seattle would have to go 10-9 and no one else out play us. Long shot, but doable.

Freeman, Duran, and Helman are playing every day as far as I'm concerned. Duran's arm in RF, Langford in CF, and hiding Helman's arm in LF. Freeman at 2nd, Smith at SS, Higashioka at C. Tellez, Burger, Pederson at 1B/DH. Heim can sit, Harris PR, Osuna PR. Re-evaluate if anybody gets healthy.

Houston was looking to go to a 6man rotation before Arrighetti went down. That had Garcia projected against Texas, yesterday with Framber going tomorrow against Toronto. Houston decided to flip the two, I'm guessing putting more emphasis on a W against Texas, which would have put them another game up, if they won.

They lost. So, now Garica is facing Toronto. On the surface, the pitching matchups for the series seems to favor Toronto. Toronto has the best home record in the AL 2nd in MLB.

Not sure we'll close any distance on Seattle in the next 4 days, but we should gain at least 1... maybe 2 on Houston.
