well zips is just going off projection for this year, so it takes last year into account, but it wouldn't make him one of the top 6 or 7 starters if you lined them up

Ok, but he is better than at least half of those guys they show in our bullpen even if you don't want to show him as a starter. I would take him over Spaghetti personally.

That also means in alternate universe, he got put in to start a clean 7th inning with a 2-0 lead in game seven and got wrecked. People on that universe's Texags still gripe about it till this day wondering how Hinch could have made such a decision.

JV wasn't good either, but we only lost by 1 run in Game 1, and the bullpen blew it in Game 2 anyway.

If we had hung on to win in 2019 or beaten the Rangers in 2023 (we should have easily handled the Diamondbacks in the WS), that 3rd and especially 4th title would have solidified the dynasty.

Maybe 5 assuming we still win all 3 in D.C., but that Nats team was also stacked and on an all-time heater.

I know we need a left handed batter, but since we've been foraying into the Japanese baseball league, we ought to at least take a look at Jack Elliot of the Chunichi Dragons

He plays a pretty decent first base, has the Japanese record for games with a consecutive home run, is a former MLB world series MVP, and led the Yankees in 9th inning doubles in the month of August, before he was traded to the Dragons.

Hearing more about Houston and Boston being involved in talks. I don't necessarily expect anything in the super near future, but that being said, it wouldn't surprise me to see a deal done in the next 48 hours or so.

I'd be hesitant to trade Isaac, but.. to me this looks really good.

Duran has higher WAR, more H in fewer PAs, better BA, Slug and OPS. Plus, he's a threat on the basepaths.

Only four of those in all of baseball and none of them play for Boston. Are you sure your expectations are properly calibrated?

It would be nice to get Boston to overpay -- as they lost out on Bregman and Arenado.

The only FA 3rd baseman of interest left is Eugenio Suarez.

If we want power and youth, Abreu might fit the bill. He plays elite defense too. Its not the Crawford boxes, but our RF is short too. Wilyer has a great ability to pull the ball in the air. Not Paredes, but still good.

I'm also interested in what they plan to do with Casas. He has even less of a spot for playing time than Duran / Abreu. I'd say try to get him thrown in with Abreu or Duran to see if you can rehab him the first half of the year and maybe he can take over second half or 2027.
