Absolutely brilliant decision to leave Teng in this inning when it was obvious he was running out of gas in the last inning.

4 straight hits and he is finally making a move when it's 3-0…fire this f***ing clown.

What an absolute joke of coaching letting tang throw that many pitches. Mark this down as another espada joke of a coaching decision.

And let's not ignore Cam having another mistake in the OF allowing Bleday to take 3B.

He may have a lethal arm but his fielding is objectively bad.

What's the season record for bases loaded walks?

Astros giving out free bases with 3 walks issued this inning. #1 in MLB. What a freaking joke.

Man, it's brutal watching a mlb team walk this many batters.

Never thought I'd think at this point in the season that Brice has a better shot than Cam at actually being a regular on a playoff team

Brice has seemed like an underdog around this thread especially compared to Cam, but I assume he was a much lower ceiling prospect, too. Would love having a hometown guy be a big part of the future of this team, but I wouldn't rule out trading him either if the right deal presented itself.

Refs have 5 runs on 8 hits. Sounds efficient. Yet they somehow have left 8 guys on base.

That's 5 extra base runners I can't account for. I wonder how they got on. Oh yeah. I got it figured out. We walked them.

Cam is a year younger, strikes out less, swings harder and barrels more balls. I'd definitely still bet on Cam of the two (though I'm with you that I'm less confident by the day). They've made mention of tweaks they have been making to his swing, which I can't help but think would be better served working on in the minors where the results any given day are irrelevant.

Haven't even got a guy on second. So pathetic

In my opinion, Brice has taken the CF job, and Jake is done as an Astro if he ever gets healthy again.

Brice is already displaying more power than Jake ever did, and he's a potential 2B replacement for Altuve when the goat hangs it up

I think Jake was better initially in '21 after getting called up, but I never would have expected that to be his peak either. Even if he didn't have the bad injury in Chicago, he wasn't going to become an All-Star level player like I assumed based on just a few months of games.

100 losses looks pretty plausible with this bunch.

Here's your daily rebuild trade of the day. Doyle was just the 5th pick in last year's draft with top of the rotation upside as a lefty (something we desperately need). Rodriguez may have the loudest bat in the minors. Right now he's playing catcher but whether he can stick is still TBD. Regardless he has the bat to provide plenty of value at 1B or DH. The main downside of this trade is neither guy will be ready by 2027 other than maybe to get their feet wet so you have to be committed to punting this year and next.

Why would any GM in their right mind trade for an injured Hunter Brown who is on the 60 day DL and who has two strikes against him pitching next year with a lockout and an injury?

Once again, I'm not proposing that today. I'm working off the assumption we are trading guys in June / July and they are healthy.

I don't know that ever seen Yordan strike out 4 times.

The Mermen just lost 2-1 after coming into the 9th up 1-0. This division is so horrible we are likely going to stand pat and try to win it going 82-80

Mets won the 73 NL East with 82 wins, beat the Reds in the NLCS before losing to the A's in the WS so it's happened before.

The Giants are trying to dump salary. There's a good litmus test for exactly how serious Crane is about winning. He willing to take on Adames contract to get Ray in as a #2 starter? Methinks not. Firing Brown and Joe is much cheaper

The AL is so effed up that the White Sox have a rookie with 15 HR and and a pitcher who is 5-1 with a 1.62 ERA

Espada must have pictures of Crane molesting a collie or something.

Sounds wild to say since it's May but this is a pretty damn important home stand

We'll know after this stretch if the boat can stay afloat or if it's time to pull the plug.

Sobering facts at the 1/4 quarter pole of the season.

To go 81-81, you have to go 65-56 the rest of the way (.537).

Your starting rotation on opening day: Brown, Burrows, Imai, Javier, and LMJ have started a combined 23 out of 41 possible games.

No starter with more than 2 decisions has a winning record except Arighetti.

Bryan Abreu has more homers allowed (4) than combined saves and holds (3).

Nasim Nunez of the Nationals and Jose Ramirez of the Indians both have stolen bases than the entire Astros' team.

Yordan is hitting .207 in May with a .648 OPS.

Since June 28, 2025, Jeremy Pena has missed 66 of the Astros last 129 games (51%). The team is 29-37 in those games.

Is on pace to lose 99 games.

Since getting on the flight to leave LA last July after sweeping the Dodgers…Astros are 48-65 over the 113 games since.

This is ridiculous…there's absolutely no way that Crane believes Espada is ever going to amount to anything as a manager.

I just don't understand how he is still here…even Kalas and Sparks on the broadcast were surprised to see Teng go back out there for the 4th. Then he is allowed to pitch to 4 guys and gives up hits to all 4 before getting pulled…that's just moron stuff. Espada is Cecil Cooper/Brad Mills/Bo Porter bad…unreal this failed experiment is still going.
