We all knew these days were coming eventually, it just sucks that they're here. After the Rockets started falling apart after their 2 titles, i remember telling myself that I would have been happy with just 1 Houston sports title in my entire lifetime. Then we won 2 back to back in basketball. Two more from the Astros has been beyond anything I would have thought I'd ever live to see.
It just sucks to feel like we're at the end of one journey, and nobody knows where the next one will lead.

Didn't have to be this way. It took extreme arrogance, a lot of stupidity, and literally trashing everything that made us successful. It was clear as day that we were starting down the 2006-2011 path three years ago. Some of you buried your heads in the sand and clapped every time we sold a prospect for some mediocre player that was never going to play more than 2 months here (not saying it was you specifically).
Correa just announced he's gunning for the managerial job. He plans on sitting right next to Joe Espada in the dugout the rest of the season.
I know its been written about here, but this is a big series. Seattle is going for the head shot. They've got all of their big guns in line to pitch. If they can win the series, they'll never have to guess where we're at - we'll always be in their rear view mirror.
It is extremely sad and disappointing, but the 2026 season may very well be "over" by May 14.

What are the rules for player-manager? Does half his salary not count towards the luxury tax since only half his job is as a player now? Might just be brilliant.
