So the airlines (AA and United) are showing most flights into Cancun for tomorrow are still on schedule. That can't be possible.

As of right now, I have 7 flights departing tomorrow (one a reschedule from today). None are showing delayed or canceled at this point. My guess is they want to wait as long as possible to cancel.

From what I understand, the hurricane is supposed to move through pretty quickly (just a few hours).

I'm going to guess some will be canceled or delayed. Fingers crossed not, but we shall see. Per the latest looks like it will make landfall in Tulum and keep moving through fairly quickly.

Cancuns along way from where it's hitting and how it's moving.

Tulum airports gonna get rocked. Cancun will get some wind and rain but nothing like Tulum.

I got an email that all guests are safe at all Sandals locations, but some are without wifi. Brooke is at Sandals so all should be good! (minus the no internet thing).

airlines aren't going to want their metal stuck down there until the storm has passed and the airport declared operational.

Just checking on you Bayou. Hope all is well.

My TA friend in PDC is doing well. She hasn't had power in awhile but all is good.

Looks like direct landfall hit just east of us which means the brunt of the eastern eye wall was 10-15 miles from us. That's better than what was predicted. If I came in as predicted we would've been square in the eastern eye wall.

From the sounds of it, Cozumel is getting blasted and so is PA. Praying for them.

The Casa Malca webcam in Tulum looks far more chill than I expected. That's giving us some hope.

And it's raining like Hurricane Harvey in Cancun. I think it's been worse here than Tulum. Sounds like the eastern half of the storm was huge and the western half kinda died out. That's good for our house but it RIPPING Rain right now in Cancun. Streets have started to flood from the lack of run off since the storm surge is pushing water back into Cancun Bay. Fingers crossed and still saying prayers. Overall, sounds and feels like we got the best case scenario at our place though. Obviously, we don't know until we get back but the 20-30 miles that it pushed north probably saved our house.

Yes. Flights will occur into Cancun today once the storm passes. Where are you staying?
Bayou City

We're staying about 1.3 km from ASUR. Once this thing passes I'll lyk how things look. Right now it's a **** load of rain and bouts of wind so I think you'll be fine. I don't see many downed trees but there is a lot of other debris that's blowing around. Heaviest rain storm I've been in since Harvey. It hasn't stopped here for hours. Sounded like we may have lost part of the roof earlier but no water currently in the unit. Could've been a different part of the building or debris making contact w the building. We won't know more until a couple of hours when it's totally past.

From friends in Tulum it sounds like it went inland just south of Hotel Barcelo. That same person works at Sandals Tulum, thus far they only lost power but have no structural damage. Maybe a few roof tiles but nothing severe.

I'm not going to Cancun but to Denver. Was just wondering in general if the storm would mess up IAH

Safe here in Montego Bay Jamaica. Yesterday there was no WiFi, and I have Verizon so they were having issues where roaming didn't work. 1/2 the island went without service for a day. I was thankful to be able to text my family that we were just fine.

Being here in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the staff at both of resorts I have been at have been so incredible for all of the guests. Jamaica has been one of my favorite countries before this because of the people of Jamaica .
I've seen guests and staff helping put things back together, clean up and work as a team.
As for travel protection, I've also seen this firsthand of peoples flights being canceled for several days and needing to stay at a resorts several more days and stress over the cost, and those with travel protection protected because of what they purchased prior. As a travel advisor, I think all of us on here could speak of stories of ourselves and clients where it truly did protect their investment in their vacation and seeing these things each day at the resort during a hurricane makes me a believer even more so.

Some of the damage at the first resort I was at Sandals Royal Caribbean

Cancun airport must be open or will be soon. First clients flight took off on time and scheduled to arrive 11:13. Woohoo! Now just need 6 more flights to make it there today. And no rain for wedding tomorrow.

Suns trying to peek out here. About to head home in an hour or two assuming the highway isn't flooded at Puerto Aventuras.

Feels like we dodged a bullet. Rain expected everyday for the next 5 days but nothing like Beryl.

Good news is sargassum shouldn't be a problem for the next couple of days.

News just confirmed landfall was 4.5 south of Xel-Ha and 2.5 km north of Cielo Maya. That's 13 km south of our house. Praying they didn't get too much damage.

Decided to hang out in Cancun an extra night. Reports of debris on the roads and no power expected at our place until tomorrow or early next week. Got pictures of the house today and the roofs still there and the back patio door survived. We lost 6 trees and the rest look like they got put through a cheese grater, but overall our neighbors said things looked good. Just to our south and across the highway along the coast supposedly got roughed up a lot worse. Lots of downed power lines, tree limbs, and blown off roofs between Bahias de Punta and Chan Chemuyil. Haven't heard any reports on Xel Ha yet mostly because it's private and closed so no easy way to access it.

Reports from most of the large resorts are that they are operating as normal but with limited electric capacity due to running on generators. Sounds like they have the WiFi and power up for creature comforts like AC. I think most of them just closed their storm shutters and hunkered down but it must have worked because their kitchens are even back to open.

Beaches are all closed for riptides by estado QR. The GN and municipal police are out on their ATVs and restricting not only beach access but movement within Tulum and Akumal and PA. I think they're trying to keep looters out.

Family is supposed to vaca around Puerto Morales and playa the 14th-21st. Anyone know how that area got hit?
Bayou City
How long do you want to ignore this user?
They didn't get hit too bad. There's a decent amount of beach erosion in PDC but nothing super crazy. It was mostly wind blowing trees over and power lines going down. A lot of the glass patio balcony's blew out in PDC and Tulum. Overall I think it hit Houston harder than it hit here.

"Welcome home". I got in yesterday afternoon from London just in time for the storm. The WiFi was not working on BA so we did not know the hurricane was coming in further east. Last I saw was Corpus. Still no power. London was great. It was so cold.
