I got here in terminal A at 1130. Took 19 minutes to walk from the airport entrance to the end of the security line (which was underground at the Marriott in the subway tunnel). I've been in that line for 1 hour 40 minutes now and I'm still not back to the regular security entrance (I'm between there and baggage claim.

Plan accordingly.

What sucks is my flight was 235 so I got there at 240ish and (boarding closed about 220). So now I'm on the 430. At least I had options. Just a ridiculously long day at the airport

FWIW, arriving at 1130 it was 3 hours through terminal A and 4 hours through terminal E. At 1230 terminal A was a 3.5 hour wait.

Just texted with a guy who said he walked almost 1 hour after arriving at the airport before finding the end of the TSA line in terminal A (which my same walk was only 19 minutes)

I got back home about 20 mins ago. Left my house at 12pm. Spent 4 hours waiting in security and had about 75 mins left when my flight pulled back from the gate.

Time for a top shelf pour tonight.

Started walking and timing the wait in Terminal A for a 6PM flight at 1:15 PM. Took 3 hours 34 minutes to make it through. The line was beyond the marriott hotel in the subway basement with lines on both sides of the walkway. One going away from terminal A and one returning. There is no precheck or clear. Its all regular poor mans security. Absolutely brutal day but at least I made my flight so it could be worse. .

Took me 110 minutes to get thru A this morning once I was actually in line. Took me 20min to get to the end of the line from A parking. Ignore the app, go to A. E is an even worse disaster

Wait times are looking better today. I've been keeping an eye on them and they've been fluctuating between 45 minutes and 120 minutes. But now it's back down to 90 minutes.

Any word on CLEAR status today?

Not open. Only one checkpoint in A and E open and no TSA precheck or anything.

We made it thru terminal A security today around 8:45am in 30 minutes.

At 526pm, 26 minutes to get through at Terminal C, but through the Global Services area by ticketing. At the time, they said E was 120 min and A was 90 min.
But once in, the Polaris lounge is so full it's standing room only. This is ridiculous.

I hope today's wait times hold. I have a client who is flying out Saturday. If they miss their flight, they miss boarding the cruise. Luckily its a river cruise so they could board the next port but obviously not ideal. Part of the hiccup is that they are flying KLM, which means they can't just drop their bags at any time like you could with United, American, etc. It shows baggage typically opens 3-4 hours before. They are planning on getting there 5 hours before.

Luckily other than this, don't have many flying out in the next week or 2.

Good news is they are already down some from the photo above, but still at 150 and 200 minutes.

i dont get why CLEAR is not available....it should not be affected by the govt shutdown.....unless CLEAR only operates in conjunction with TSA precheck....

Cancelled our trip to Whistler this week because of this fiasco; won't be flying until this is resolved. Even then they are going to have to restaff as some folks aren't coming back given what has happened in the last few months. the stupidity in DC is beyond the pale at this point. The whole airport screening process and how it is funded and managed needs to be re-tooled. Bigger airports need to be able to have private security screening.
