Took significant profits over the last week in many things, some were stops on newer plays for small profit or microscopic loss due to them not doing what I wanted, others were significant resistance areas on longer-term plays. 65% cash now.

I got out of FIG this morning, in the high 66's, but the way it's run the last several days I will not be shocked when it's at $78 soon. I just think it might hit some sell pressure between now and then with some people who got in early in the 70s and are looking to exit. And there's not much volume to support the price until it gets back down to 60, and I am not willing to take that ride on this one for now.

Finally almost back to breakeven. Sporting my fig leaf skibbies today to celebrate the rally.
I sold nov $100 call earlier today on a portion. Come and take them Mr market.

NNE - I'm aiming for $130, but this could easily get even more impulsive based on the price action to date.

So you're saying a good buy at $49?

Sorry if this is old news, but...

Has anyone seen (or is anyone familiar) with Trilogy Metals (TMQ) and what it has done over the last couple of days? On Monday it was in the $2 range and then shot up to over $7 (it has now retraced some to the mid-$6 range. Apparently this is due to the US govt buying stake in the company, as mentioned in that unusual whales tweet on Monday.

https://www.msnbc.com/top-stories/latest/trump-administration-socialism-mining-trilogy-metals-rcna236213

https://nypost.com/2025/10/07/business/trilogy-metals-shares-soar-215-after-us-takes-10-stake-in-canadian-mining-firm/

Could we be looking at the possibility of the same kind of news dropping for WWR as did for TMQ and seeing this thing shoot up at some point? Or was TMQ the chosen company and WWR left out to dry?

That possibility for WWR has been mentioned on the board a few pages back. There's quite a bit of analysis on WWR if you scroll back a few pages.

Thanks. I figured I just missed it. Sometimes when the thread has jumped a few pages in between viewings, I forget to read everything and end up jumping to the end when I click my watchlist.

Yep that's why I jumped both on shares and calls. Might bite me but the setup looked enticing.

What would you do.......

with our old friend DNN

I'm sitting on some net free shares. Not a ton. But this was one of my first forays into buying shares and selling CC's. It's been 2-3 years but I got in around 90c and then sold enough around 1.50 that combined with CC's went net free.

Since then I've sold CC's out several months just for pocket change. A while ago when stock was just over $2 I sold 10/17 $2.5 calls on all my shares for 0.20 per call. And now with it looking to finish above there I'm likely to get called out. And that is just fine with me as that's solid profit and I've played it well. On to the next one.

OOOORRRR, do I roll out my call?? I could buy back the Octobers for 0.40 and then roll out to January at $3.5 for 0.25. So I'd be netting a whopping 5c but getting higher price. Or if it drops I hold my shares.

Can you imagine if the Trump admin announced a stake? First, Elon would be livid. Second, it would position them (and NVDA and whole gaggle of imaginary revenue roundtrippers) as too big to fail.

I'm not saying its likely. But I've got popcorn ready just in case.

Not answering for Heine but my entire 401k is in the MMKT option my company gives me. Same for the kids 529s and our Brokerage.

My kid will never know how the number they get was invested. If I've done my job right, I'll show them the number and it'll be "gee thanks dad, I really appreciate you saving X for my benefit".

I went 75/25 at around 5,000 S&P. The rest has been a little at a time over the last 3-4 months.

That appears to be the debate. A lot of the talking heads think we keep running between now and half way into 2026

I got 17% in stable value that I mostly pulled out of an average S&P @6700. I'll probably move more of it keeps going up

Silly….i hope it was a good choice for you, but timing the market like that seems like a bad idea. This thing could run another year…it could run several more years with the amount of money printing and inflation.

Edit: I will say I feel like we're getting close to a top. Things are silly. But I obviously have no idea, and am not pulling investments from my retirement accounts (at 40 years old). I have 15-20 years until retirement to ride any downturn out. I'm not going to pull money now and miss any run.

No one knows the future but I'm not comfortable with how this market is going parabolic. As of today I'm now 85% in cash. Everyone makes their own decisions and I'm making the decision that I believe is right for me. I know it's hard watching the market right now, but don't FOMO and chase. The odds of you trapping yourself are high.
