I would agree 99% of the time but I am not sure we have ever seen "one timers" of this potential magnitude. For example Walmart's 2025 Net Income was $19.4B and they are potentially owed ~$10B in tariff refunds. I have never seen a company have a one timer equal to >50% their annual income.
Outside of "lowering pricing" for a period of time which would be hard to facilitate and track, I just dont see how these companies can get refunds to consumers unless they have detailed records like Fedex does with their Custom's paperwork. How does Walmart get each of us our $1.32 owed for the toilet paper we bought or whatever right?
I am starting to wonder if some of these companies dont issue large(er) one time dividends to investors or stock buyback because I think it will be really bad PR to just toss that much money into the corporate coffers. I know we have had talks of at least share it with the shareholders if we cant get it back to the consumers.

yeah me too. Seems like chicken wing restaurant would be really hard to create any sort of nice competitive moat advantage. But the dudes on this board are often very on point so we might be missing something here.

I just bought some GRRR, but it was a PITA! I couldn't buy online for some reason. Once you have your opening buy, you can buy more though.

I agree on your competitive moat advantage comment. To me this is a momentum trade which can mean a lot of things but I'm trying to get a 2x in a few years with a pretty solid downside safety-net established then cash in my chips and find the next one. These guys likely ran WAY too high in mid to late 2024 but inflationary pressures (input cost, labor cost and other) started to catch up with them but they likely became too far out of favor.
MSFT looking like it wants to fill the earnings gap sooner than later.

I'm a big eye ball guy. Does a store have a lot of cars parked outside? Is a restaurant doing well at peak dinner times? Do I see a lot of a certain infrastructure type company vehicles out and about (ie Flour or Schlumberger) .

I was at Starbucks just yesterday doing some work and at 915 am it was packed with at least 40 patrons. How many were wearing Nikes? I literally looked at every patrons shoes (yes I know this seems weird but whatever) and you know how many Nike's I saw? ONE. Who was wearing it? ME. That's it. Everyone else in there was wearing HOKA, Brooks, NBs, Adidas, I even saw 2 Reebok and no Nike along with casual non sneaker shoes. But the only person wearing NIKE in the whole store was me. Even the retro Jordan's and stuff are starting to fade a bit. Sure they are still popular (I love em, I still wear several versions) but they aren't as cool to wear as they were say 3 years ago.
That said, the insider buying is interesting. Could it be they are trying to create some in house momentum for the stock price and financials? It's a lot of inside buying and while the inside buys themselves wont move the needle much the PR might? Idk.

Lol. 16 yr old and 12 yr old. 16 doesn't care at all anymore for Nike (hes all Hoka and On) , 12 yr old doesn't have any preference yet as hes on the spectrum so he just wears what we buy for him (which currently are Nikes).

I was a hoka guy for a long time but they don't get as much life out of them. I am running on asics now and get a lot more life out of them.

I was just telling a friend that you would think it would be the opposite.
Ebay makes insanes amount of money on fees with nearly no overhead on millions of transactions a day they don't even have to touch and gamestop sells a bunch of crap on razor thin margins, hundreds if not thousands of stores and employees with benefits.
Who TF is in charge of Ebay?
