Perth is the official bullion mint for Australia.
I'm clarifying the above comment. A picture of a Koala coin was posted with "Australian" in the description. The coin's "P" mintmark indicates Perth. The Australian Mint focuses primarily on circulating currency, whereas Perth focuses on bullion and investment metals.

Australian bullion coinage (still legal tender) is minted by the Perth mint.
Calling it an Australian coin does not contradict that it's minted at Perth.

I knew what they were but didn't know that bigger mints could be susceptible. I typically put them all away and don't look at them often so I have no idea if any of mine have them. I'll have to check them out.

Canadian maples and Britannias get them bad, something about how they wash the planchets before striking.

Do local dealers usually pay spot for silver? Bought quite a bit (not compared to some of you) during the downturn, and considering unloading some of it now that prices have recovered above what I paid.

When I have taken silver in for aome people/clients per se they pay 3.00 below spot
I am sure each shop owner has a number they pay below spot just have to find the right one

I usually find better prices at Monument. But I almost always buy coins and not rounds/bars, so maybe Monument has better pricing on gov bullion.
