Say what you will about Austin, but they fully vet their coaches.
not to derail, but they have a football coach who's stripper live in side piece, monkey, bit a kid on Halloween. This same coach left his wife and kids for said stripper and monkey.

So unless vet means they had the monkey checked out about a vet, I wouldn't give them in Austin that much credit for vetting anything.
Hilarious.

Vetting assistants is on the head coach. That's not something an athletic department does past your standard background check. Having bad taste in women is also not unethical or illegal. If anything that dude is VERY inclusive.

Nope. I don't have to defend my feelings to anyone. And I'm certainly not the only one who thinks Kelly is the best coach and best recruiter.
Relax, no one is asking you to defend anything. This is a forum where people talk about their feelings, occasionally tossing in some facts to back them up. I'm asking you for your opinion, because I'm curious. You're saying Vic doesn't have integrity and lacks inclusivity. If you have facts to back that up, that might change my opinion about him.
Deliberately ran up the score when MS played us at CS!
look at the score when we played MSU the first time Vic was coach.

You know there is a way to keep the score from getting run up on your, play better.
Stole one of our players - left her in when the game was out of reach! Rubbing it in !

I'm not sure what Bjork will do, but this is a really big decision for him. KBW may be a great assistant coach and recruiter, but she is high risk hire for a completely unproven head coach. It offers consistency and an easy transition and the players will love it, but if she fails the program will be set back for years and it's not that easy to turn things back around once you lose your position as a Top 10-15 program. Schools like Texas A&M should be hiring proven, elite coaches in all sports if we are serious about winning NC. On the other hand, KBW could end up being a great coach and take us to another Final Four. It's just a really risky hire and will be on Bjork either way.

Molly Miller could become the next great D1 head coach. She holds the highest career winning percentage (.892) of any NCAA men's or women's basketball coach at the Division I, II or III levels with at least five years of experience.

I've often wondered why this happened? Do you think it was bc of Carter, or the coaches, or a combination of Carter and the coaches?

I had to look her up. I would not want to be in Bjork's shoes for this transition. I truly feel the transition has already happened, but I may be wrong!

Carter was not a high-percentage shooter. For her to score a lot of points, she had to take a lot of shots. Both transferring players wanted Chennedy's shots. Additionally, there was a helicopter mom involved who blamed Gary for not campaigning hard enough for her daughter to make the all-conference team.

Kelly Bond-White is going to be really good. It is really a no brainer all things considered.
this, the players love her! She's a hell of a recruiter and has her roots in the Chicago area that is loaded with talent! Watch how the girls will play hard for her! She's stuck around for a reason, it's her team next year!

So was Bird, regarded as one of the top assistants in volleyball. We'll, she has run what little of volleyball program we've had into the ground

Are any other teams needing coaches interested in hiring Kelly?

If not, that would tell one that hiring Kelly would be a big step down from Coach Blair...no matter how much Kelly is liked by everyone inside the program.

We need to hire another coach at a level oof Coach Blair or Kim Mulkey.

Did LSU seek to hire Kelly? I don't think so.

Hiring Kelly could be a program killer.

She has had double digit opportunities to take over other programs. I know WBB doesn't get the coverage of some other sports so it may not be obvious unless one is really connected.

But here is an article as an example from the off-season on the Vanderbilt coaching options. Duke of the ACC and Vanderbilt of the SEC are just two examples.

Quote:

Bond-White was in the running to be Duke's head coach after last season, but Vanderbilt is a job that allows her to stay in the conference. In 18 years with the Aggies, Bond-White has built one of the most impressive programs in the country. The Aggies have made 15-straight NCAA Tournament appearances with her on the staff.

Bond-White is known as a great recruiter, something Vanderbilt needs not only to retain the remaining talent on its roster amidst an exodus of starters to the transfer portal, but also to rebuild the program over the next few years. She would be a great candidate for Vanderbilt if Lee is considering first-time head coaches.

Anyone long associated with the program knows how many head coaching opportunities she has had - - even back when Blair was begging other teams to look at another coach on his staff.

Stanford was a whopping 4/27 from 3 point range, made only 13 2 pt shots and had 18 points from the free throw line! Evidently they have no inside game coupled with bricklayers from beyond the arc. Not a good recipe for beating a well coached team. It remains to be seen how good Stanford actually is this year!

It was a very good game and came down to coaching. Beating the Cardinal on their court is quite an accomplishment in any sport except football…

I mean, I like that he beat Kim Mulkey hahaha

If you watch GB's press conference from today, it's pretty clear to me that the 3 recruits we just got know who the coach will be moving forward. He just said they committed to Texas A&M and not Gary Blair...

Just too many signs pointing to KBW as being heir apparent.

Agree; I did just read that they lost their point guard that was an integral part of their championship team from last year and that her new/young guards had trouble with Texas's press and defense.

If she had many great opportunities to take over top programs, why didn't she go for one?

Look....I hope she is the right one if they are going to give her the head coaching job...but if the program regresses under her leadership, it will be very difficult to bring it back to the Blair level.

Our AD has two woman's programs that have been regressing for some time: softball and volleyball. Not sure he needs a 3rd headache to deal with.

Glad I'm not doing the hiring.

Aren't you part of the group that has *****ed about Blair....not bringing our program to an elote level, how he can't recruit tc and now you are saying - if program regresses it would be difficult to bring back to the Blair level.
So I must assume now you know how much Gary Blair was worth to our program and we were damn lucky he came and stayed.......he will be missed.

Are you telling me only "A Man" can coach this women's basketball team .....

Don't make me drop the other mic.

It appears some have decided it should be Kelly and some think it should be Vic. So Kelly is a great asst coach and Vic was a great asst coach and currently a great head coach. I don't know where Kelly went to school but Vic is an Aggie. I don't personally know either one of them but I do know a close friend of Vic. Vic has previously told the friend ( not an Aggie) that the Aggie head coach job was his dream job. The AD is going to make the decision and he might be surprised if he contacted Vic.

I don't care who it is as long as the process is transparent. A previous coach dictating the outcome isn't a good look.

All have beaten Blair and I like the way their teams play and how these coaches coach

I would agree with this; add Vic to the mix and there are probably other coaches I'm not thinking of. I just would love to see them pour some effort into this, although my gut and deductive reasoning seems to realize the decision has already been made.
