I really don't agree with SOME of the "analysis " here

Aggies clearing the bench with 3+ minutes to play.

The Ags are really going to have to improve their quickness, tenacity and ability to play competitively in the SEC. They really looked flat and possibly intimidated after the first few minutes. Ball movement slow, no ability to penetrate on dribble and score and more than anything else, no swarming hustle on defense leading to scores on turnovers (0 for the entire game). The sips are not UConn or Baylor of yesteryear and we're getting blown off of our own court by a team with key injuries.

I've been around long enough to remember the old days in WBB. What happened to the Longhorn fan contingent? They used to bring a ton of fans. Not so many today. SFA brought a bigger crowd. What happened?

Honestly, Nixon has a bad game and Blair didn't know how to get Harmon off her. Set a screen; let someone else bring up the ball; something! Nixon is what she is, but you have to help her. I am not even a basketball expert and I know that. Damn Nixon is not just going to become a Colson-type athlete over night.

Schafer has taken teams deep into the NCAA tournament at Miss State and in his first year at Texas. I don't know why A&M would not go get him and why some Aggies don't like him. You would think the Aggies would welcome him home. His teams have for the most part if not always been competitive. There would definitely be an improvement on the defensive side of the ball.

They hustled; they just don't have the same defensive talent as Texas. Blair tried to play Schaffer's game against Schaffer. Play your game. spread the floor; shoot 3s and occasionally get Roby involved. They play that game and they probably win. Blair didn't even play Hoppie in the 1 QTR; that's crazy to me.

Honestly, it was just a poor game by everyone including the coaches. The team has played better, but this was by far the toughest team they have faced. They will get better and if Roby can play like that every game it will help open the outside shots up. Also, need the bench to be able to give the starters a breather and contribute.

ehh it's one game... not gonna face many defenses as good as Texas. We'll learn from this and improve!! Sydnee Roby will hopefully be featured more and our girls will be more motivated!

also... Rori Harmon is a monster, gosh

Maybe if A&M made a commitment to the women's basketball program as they did to the football program. I'm not talking 10 year contracts at multiple millions but a very reasonable offer that would pay the coach a salary at or near the top of the highest paid women's basketball coaches. The man's an Aggie. Show him some love with a very good contract and it may be the difference.

We aren't built for speed as a collective group

I'm not surprised that we lost. Their guards are just better and quicker than our guards and with any Vic team they are going to play hard. However, I am surprised at our constant high turnovers from veteran guards whenever we play a tough defensive team.
I haven't been too impressed with our man-to-Man defense all season and our half court sets on offense have been overshadowed by our recent high 3-point shooting games.
I still have faith in the team, but to contend, we are going to have to change up some things and get better. The SEC in my opinion is even better than last year.

They took 14 more shots than we did because we had 12 more turnovers than they did.

It's just a typical Blair team. You don't know who is going to show up.

Turnovers are the biggest issue. We're sloppy with the ball snd you can't give good team extra possessions like that.

I was hoping Hoppie would have had more impact today. I hope this was Robys break out game and she keeps,up this level of play, we need some production down low to free up our outside shooters

Remember one thing the cupboard was not bear when he took over the team.....Karen Aston left talented kids for him to work wit...so he didfnot have to go through a rebuild

What sticks out…

Turnovers and free throws. But it took us 3 quarters before we attacked in the paint, so we had no chance to get to the FT line

Some thoghts re horns game............

horns have played two tough road games prior to today, so they were very poised on our home court
they beat Stanford at Stanford and lost by 4 in OT at Tenn

Patty was great on rebounds but needs to quit shooting the 3 ball as we can get a better shot. She has made
one 3 ball shot in 9 games and misses a lot of them.

Roby is a confident player but struggled in the first half. To her credit, she played very well in the second half.

Nixon looked very tired to me. Of course the horns were in her grill with quick players all game. Her shooting has been off the last two games.

Hoppie with zero points when she could have handled the ball some and took some pressure off of Nixon.

Also Nixon was in knee brace, did she hurt it in USVI tourney?

Patty had a hell of a rebounding game today. It's one game, and we have almost a month to get ready for lsu at Baton Rouge. We need to work on the press and I would love for to establish a down low game early in the game. To get the opponents bigs in trouble early.
