Need Pitts in simply because we need some 3s and she is our best at it.

Refs are really scared of Mulkey. They need to quit playing with her.

Someone needs to decide for the refs where they should eat after the game.

Now we come back after a timeout and the refs decide to review something from before the timeout.

They have been awful.

Well, 23 fouls called against the Aggies to 12 for LSU with LSU shooting 19 of 24 from the line will doom most teams. Aggies shot 4 of 7 from the line.

That pretty much ends our NCAA chances outside upsetting 2 of 3 of Ole Miss, Georgia, and South Carolina.

How the game was called early was strange and crucial. Then late it was rough and uncalled.

Turnovers were even and the taller LSU team hammered the Ags on the board gathering 44 boards to 26 for the Ags.

You can't blame the refs for this loss. We folded in the second half. It was a total beat down. They scored more points in the third period then we scored in the whole second half.

This game proves that coaching matters. Mulkey has been successful everywhere and has had Blair's number 95 % of the time. She knows how to coach, recruit and intimidate the refs.

"intimidate the refs" Indeed this is what she does, they just need to stand up to her!

LSU's quickness and speed was the difference in the game to me. Not the refs. But just saying the refs had a poor day all around.

Refs has nothing to do with the outcome of this game, coaching and better players was the difference

Did not say the refs won or lost the game, but they called an extremely erratic game. Also, two quick fouls against PItts in the first couple of minutes sat her on the bench for most of the game preventing her from getting in a rhythm. LSU had a better team today.

Yes, the refs did have something to do with the game. It was poor and Mulkey helps them decide. Our coach has been owned by Mulkey for over a decade. That is part of the game. Make your position known to the refs.

Took an 8 point lead with 1:30 to go in the 2nd quarter and were outscored 49 to 25 the rest of the way.

Interestingly, Mulkey says to expect Baylor fans there pulling for LSU.

Quote:

"I'm looking forward to going there because I'll see a lot of former people from Baylor. LSU will have a ton of people because all those Baylor people will put on purple and gold."

I'm fairly certain this was probably the nail in the coffin for our tournament chances unless we somehow win out or win the SEC tournament. Would we go into the WNIT or do you think Gary turns that down?

Koppe Bridge burger and drive home helped me calm down a little. That was such a fun first two and a half quarters.

No because I'm not sure mentally this team would show up and what a damn embassment which would be worse than what we are already experiencing......

If our tea leaf prognostication is at all predictive, the new coach if hired internally might lead the team to WNIT. And even if interim benefits from being head coach in postseason.

I can't believe how we get embarrassed at making the postseason.

I do agree with your sentiments about the new coach potentially leading the team into the WNIT. With regards to not advancing into the ncaa tournament, I don't agree that it's tea leaf prognostication. The analysts have stated objectively that only 3 teams from the SEC have ever made it into the tournament with a .500 conference record; only one team has ever made it in 1 loss under .500. With 4 games remaining we don't have a shot at hitting .500 and it's not likely that we beat South Carolina to get to one game under .500.

I'm not embarrassed, but I am frustrated. Having said that, I know the coaches and athletes are just as frustrated. But, this is a far cry from the program we were in the 2010s. I'm praying it's just an abnormal variant and I'm super sad it's happened to Gary in his last year as head coach.

We were in next 4 out in the last Bracketology. Our NET ranking is 42 after the LSU game. I thought we needed 2 high quality wins against (NET ranking) 18 LSU, at 29 Ole Miss, at 25 Georgia, or 1 South Carolina to get into the dance. I thought LSU was our best chance for 1 of those 2 quality wins with it being at home. We just needed something to propel us into the 30's to make the NCAA tourney but are now low on likely chances.

The issue is not our net ranking, unfortunately. There are so many automatic bid winners in ticky tack conferences that we could have a higher net ranking and we won't get in based on the amount of games we've lost in conference. I PRAY I'm wrong, but based on our conference ranking we have a very very small shot at reaching the NCAAs even if we win out. We need to beat the next 3 and then give South Carolina a run for their money to even have a remote shot. OR - somehow win the SEC conference tourney where SC has been almost a lock as champion for the last 5-6 years.

Hence, my reference of us being into the 30's in NET ranking to make it instead of the top 68.

And if we win out beating Ole Miss, Georgia, and South Carolina, we are 100% in. However, that happening is 100% unlikely in my opinion even though I'd love to see it.
