Looks like could be a very close game.

We are 4-1 with the 19 point loss to Duke at Duke. UConn beat Duke at Duke by 27
without their best player, Paige Beckers.

After 5 games I think Jones and Hylton are our most complete players.
Barker and Bowles are playing well in spurts. Don't think our bigs are consistent enough yet.

Hopefully we will improve on our 18 turn overs per game avg. soon. The team free throw % is not good mostly because Barker is down to 38% for the season as she shoots most of them.

I would caution fans to manage their expectations as this is a very losable game. I think we would have to see a break in some trends to win by double digits, if not, this could be a game of inches.

I love a nail biter myself.

I think Barker is just warming up. She shows every sign of taking over games like Chennedy though without being on ball at all.

Jones and Hylton were bad @ Duke. You gotta show it to me on the road. I still agree on Sahara, consistent rebounding, scoring, and creating high % shots for herself and defending at a high level. Hylton, although she leads the team in assists, the ball does tend to stick in her hands at times and she misses open teammates in transition and in the half court for contested tries at the rim. I think if she would facilitate a bit more she'd start and we could have a more fluid offense.

I thought Bowles has been pretty good in every game, moves the ball well and doesn't turn it over. Makes the easy pass to the open teammate. She's shooting 42% on 5 threes a game, and hit at least 1 a game. I would like to see her with the ball in her hands a little more to see what the dribble looks like. Her limited drives have looked good. Shooting and attacking close outs, looks to be where most of her offense will come from this season. I think she can be special in that role and diversify as she gets older.

Rice is great if you're really hungry and want to eat two thousand of something, but I've already had my cornflakes. Today we beat the hell outta those nerds. Wedgies and noogies swirlies for all.

I thought Jada took the ball aggressively to the basket last game and also showed some quickness defensively that I don't think Roby has. She did a great job hedging.

I have to say I have seen that translate so far in tbh game as well.

Defensively and offensively we are not great today so far. Just no flow in our passing on the offensive end and defensively we are so slow which is surprising to me.

That last bucket by Malone is what I'm talking about. Straight to the basket! I like it!

Joni said all of them are now her girls.

I wonder this as well! She's such a great glue player. Does her job well, super athletic, can shoot, plays great defense. She's been a nice surprise

I said last season that I saw so much potential in her and would like to see her play more minutes. Someone on here (I don't remember who) kinda jumped my case and said we don't single out individual players on this board. I didn't get that response then and don't get it now. It wasn't like I was criticizing anyone. At any rate, I'm glad she's getting the PT this year and getting a chance to develop her game.

Gary plays those who win the job and has a short rotation. Last year he significantly extended the rotation. She wasn't that productive and impossible at this point other than asking Gary to diagnose what he thought. But he appeared to be the kind of coach that believed in himself and likely didn't take a lot of advice from ADs that thought they knew more basketball…much less fans.

This pink haired girl is giving us fits today!

I like our offensive sets when we slow it down a bit. We don't seem to run and push the pace with much consistency yet.
