I really didn't see the reason for the unintentional foul? They've replayed it several times and I still don't see it.
Blair was the best coach we ever had. You can't fire him again HoustonAg.Houstonag said:
We have no D. Our O is wild and not under control. This squad left by Blair is bare.
I agree on the timeouts. The defense needs to be emphasized since Joni knows the claim we would shoot quickly meant turnovers and rebounds. We had two more turnovers than they did and they also beat us on rebounds though the margin was exactly one.B$Weigem said:
Am I the only one that could not believe that down 6 with 2 minutes to play we just dropped back on defense and didn't press or at least pick up full court. Coach did not try to extend the game. In fact when the game ended we had 3 timeouts left. Why not at least call timeout and try to steal an in bound pass
I'm more surprised that I saw ZERO zone in the game. I understand what Joni's is trying to do. Play the system and drive it home to the younger players so they know what to expect moving forward. The scramble on defense costed us late I guess, now I'm looking at 7-5 going into SEC play @ SC where it will get ugly.B$Weigem said:

Wow. The choir is out in force. It is amazing to me how the alumni and fans that have built and paid for all the facilities and salaries are not allowed to point out program deficiencies. The past women's coach just coasted the last few years especially in the recruiting arena.
Also that coach was not fired, he was allowed to coast one more year at over a million dollars.

I definitely don't think we gave up. I don't think that's in Joni Taylor's vocabulary. We were already without the services of G Kay Kay Green. G McKinzie Green was clearly hobbled with what looked to be a foot or ankle injury, but continued to play. We had more to lose than gain by extending the game at that point, imo. I think letting the game play out at the end was the smart thing to do.
