Joni said they've been struggling with injuries this fall so it's been hard to find an identity and flow throughout these practices leading up to the season
Umm…so…the male practice players aren't scrubs. Often could have played mid-major level and tend to have length or very good ball handling. Not saying I know who they are this year, but it is fine to give the team competition that resembles what opponents can bring,taylorswift13_ said:
And how is a random male student going to help our girls work on timing, cohesiveness, spacing, feel for one another. It's not, if you can only run one side with 5 girls at a time to work on things together then that's very inefficient, thank to roster management by Joni Taylor
Let her coach. Only way to find out if it works or not.taylorswift13_ said:
But it's not a second group of 5 GIRLS WHO PLAY BASKETBALL FOR TEXAS A&M WOMENS BASKETBALL TEAM. We can run 5 on 5 drills only 5 at a time because we don't have enough to practice with a second team because our coach couldn't add anyone else.
Forget our poor roster management, inability to run proper practices, or lack of depth, we got male students to fill in the spots during practice time!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for the concern!

I hope she proves us all wrong this year. There does seem to be a lot of emphasis put on love and joy and what they can accomplish outside of basketball. That's all good stuff but are we focusing on growing and winning inside of basketball at Texas A&M also? I don't know? I want her to succeed so badly, but I fear she doesn't seem to want to be here. Is her husband still in Atlanta?
So, basically, not here. That's a hole.Kbeauty63 said:No, Darius is with the Connecticut Sun (GM)aggiedrjdub said:

I am not some great personal friend of Joni and her family So, I don't have all the details. And I can be critical of our play, but I think it is over the line to make something which you know nothing about - their family life - part of your criticism.aggiedrjdub said:So, basically, not here. So week 1 we start with 10 girls, no team goes the entire season with an entire roster healthy every game. So then we'll be down to 8 or 9, if another gets a minor injury and/or another fouls out. 2 are coming off season long injuries in Jada Malone and Kyndal Hunter and haven't played in a year. We will be in deep deep trouble and in an absolutely embarrassing spot much like year 1 if luck isn't on our side. So she's had two off-seasons to add girls and add depth but has failed in doing so. Of course she's going to say she likes a small roster because she has one. Every year at Georgia she had 13 girls and one year 14. We can't just sit here and be comfortable our coach failed to recruit more players and isn't using all her resources and scholarships to build a championship roster. She loses girls in the portal, has a horrible recruiting class, and doesn't replace what she lost in the portal! I love this team and I'm going to support them every single game, but it's still awful to see the roster management by Joni Taylor.
does anyone know where to get a wig in the BCS areagreg.w.h said:Umm…so…the male practice players aren't scrubs. We should probably hold an open tryout for students to see if we can add a couple girls
uhm… at least you were right about the preseason projection being wrongPNWAggie14 said:
This team will be better and do better than last year's squad. We're definitely going to shock the conference this year, and some fans too. These projections are also NIL-funded/directed media coverage.
Aicha Coulibaly & Lauren Ware are going to be one of the best duos in the SEC. Leading scoring and rebounding. https://texags.com/forums/58/topics/3495434 - check out this thread, Aicha Coulibaly's highlights from last season. When she becomes the scoring priority, no one can stop her, example: South Carolina & Nebraska games in March last season. Coulibaly & Ware will be in WNBA stock mode this season!
Kyndall Hunter & Sole Williams will lead the way beyond the arc. Sharp shooters! Kyndall Hunter opened her college career (at tu) with a 27pt 7/8 from 3 performance. We all saw Sole's potential shine last season, expect an elevated game across the board this year.
Sahara Jones is going to have her career-best season, as the most experienced Aggie on the team. Her experience (4 years of SEC play) will be huge down the stretch!
Janae Kent is going to make Kim Mulkey devastated that she left NILsu. Did you know Janae holds her high school free-throw record shooting 25-26 in one game? Insane accuracy!
Taliyah Parker will end the season on the SEC All-Freshman team. She's a baller! Anyone who has watched her play knows she is a dangerous player to face.
Vanessa Saidu will give us our first Aggie dunk in team history. She has amazing length, we could have one of the strongest defenses in the nation this year.
Jada Malone & Amirah Abdur-Rahim will be some of the best paint coverage in the entire conference. The rotation with Malone, Abdur-Rahim, Ware and Saidu is going to give constant presence inside, and make it challenging to post up/drive.
Eria Moon will be a clutch PG in many crucial moments throughout the season! Her handles and passing are excellent. I assume she learned a lot her first year observing/learning from the bench while recovering.
This team is now officially underrated by the conference/media, but I think it will only fuel the fire, and they'll use it to their advantage. Let's be the 12th Man for our Aggies this season! Thanks & Gig Em
according to posters, she's returning for year 4, so seems like Trev Alberts and this administration are content with dead last in the conferenceTMartin said:
Has the program sunken far enough yet to consider looking at replacements. It's an Aggie tradition to bury an athletic program before beginning to look for a coach and start the 5 year rebuilding program. Aggie ADs are clever that way.
