My opinion is that Joni does not want to be here (and neither does her staff). This is not a cultural fit for her or her staff and she's just going through the motions.
LOL. It has nothing to do with "culture here". What are you even talking about? Unless you mean it's now hard to recruit to this school without money doing the talking. She just can't recruit good enough and not good enough schematically either based on these results. Time for new coach.

I think one leads to the other. Both of your opinions are exactly what's going through my mind

Well it seems that in the past she has brought in some basketball talent. The problem is they tire of her/the program very quickly and transfer out. This past year bringing in portal players has been pretty much a disaster because the talent (with the exception of Ny'cea & Janneh) is not up to SEC competitive levels. The current roster has one foot out the door already. It's too bad he can't.just suspend her. Get her off the court and let an assistant finish up the remainder of the season. As it is we are getting nowhere fast and the players need some relief.

I'm not talking about the Aggie culture.

Anyway. We agree she needs to go.

I have been following AggieWBB for some time now and can tell you the coach is not the problem. You do not have the opportunity to coach in the Olympics for being a bad coach. Joni came in with one of the best players in the nation Janiah Barker. She left bc A&M does not put any funds towards women's basketball to compete on the level that you TexAgs- Monday morning quarterbacks expect. Every top player in the nation knows and likes Joni. Just watch post game as the best players on each team seek her out to talk. Problem is she cannot afford them or offer them NIL deals like Fenty, CashApp, etc that Janiah received from UCLA.

If you want to win in this NIL climate it comes down to money. No matter how you look at it. Bucky is the exception and is doing great with last minute portal additions. But it doesn't take a genius to know that Ruben and Mgbako are making big bucks. The guy has a personal trainer who he pays to live in CS aside from the Aggie staff. You will all complain when we cannot compete in the Ruben D. bidding war next season.

Then why has she lost to teams like Rice, Little Rock, TAMU Corpus Christi, Villanova, Ball State, UT Arlington, and other mid majors, unless you think they're making more NIL than us? Less than a handful of teams in the conference have NIL to pay players. Most NIL deals female athletes get are individual brand deals due to their following. Most of the girls on our team the last few years have transferred to smaller schools to get away from Joni and this program. Barker didn't want to play for a losing coach and losing program, why would she?

Not a single one of our volleyball girls were paid to come to Texas A&M and they won a national championship. Morrison and the girls went up against 4 squads bought by NIL and destroyed them. Coaching matters. Now all those ladies get NIL because they are on a winning program led by a winning coach and deserve everything they get.

All this is coaching, poorly constructed rosters, no in game adjustments, no half time adjustments, quarters without a single basket, disastrous recruiting, every player leaving, girls out of shape, girls standing around, 25+ turnovers, poor body language, poor passing, poor ball handling, poor depth, poor shooting, poor rebounding, poor defending. She's had less than a handful of players exhaust their eligibility at Texas A&M throughout her tenure. No one wants to play for her. She threw together a roster of bench players and grabbed her stars from Sacred Heart and St Peters because everyone left her.

Where in the past 4 years, where she's 46-57 (12-40), has she proven she's a great coach of X's and O's. Throughout all our 20 point, 30 point, or even 40+ point losses has anyone sat down and said this is some great coaching right here. I'm sure everyone says wow, those Texas A&M Women play a sophisticated well coached style of basketball.

They did with the previous staff…

I just don't see what you are saying here? Top VB'ers on opposing teams seek out and congratulate Jamie Morrison too. Who knows, maybe the WBBallers are just offering condolences for beating her by 40 points? Trouble is, it's players that really never proved themselves here that are bailing on her program after only a year or two. Evidently they see very quickly that this is not the environment they want to finish their career.

Janiah came here with all kind of accolades, stayed a couple of years, bailed and went to UCLA where she was a substitute. Now she is off to Tenn?? where I haven't even bothered to follow how she is doing. I think it's safe to say Joanie didn't do anything to further her career while here.

And that obviously is the problem with JT's lack of coaching abilities. I mean JT is bending a player's ear in the 4rh qtr of the vandy game when we are 40 points down? Work that problem out at practice. It reminds me of Jimbo chewing out the QB every time he comes off the field. At that point in time advice is too little too late and probably falls on deaf ears.

I'm sorry but your comments about lack on nil reak of finding an excuse for poor coaching. If I remember correctly earlier in the year I saw where V Saidu had a NIL deal? She doesn't even get 4 min a game? For some odd reason I believe that if this team was coached better it wouldn't be this bad. It's like they roll the ball on the court and say here Ny'cea go make something happen. Pryor, Janneh & Ware deserve better.

Maybe just maybe she's just a good assistant coach and that's it. . Like Bird in volleyball. A good asst coach at Kansas but a terrible HC at A&M.

This is a hilarious take. Maybe your way to sweeten the championship win. Go watch a Jamie Morrison interview and see how many times he brought up NIL. NIL is definitely a factor. However as Jamie mentioned A&M is not to the level of Nebraska or other volleyball schools. It will be from here on out.

Also, Janiah definitely left bc we could not compete NIL wise with other schools. Also, Joni's previous team left because they could not take tough coaching when playing like crap. Most were too self centered. This year's team definitely has a different vibe and culture. However, it is pretty damn hard to win when your starting center cannot play to her potential due to a bummed knee.

Also, we cannot say she has lost interest this year then complain about her giving a player an ear full in the 4th quarter while down to a Vandy team who has beat most teams by double digits.

Great coaches find a way. Bucky is not the exception. What about Jamie? Trisha? Mark Weaver? Steve Denton? Gerrod Chadwell? All doing exceptionally well with much more limited budgets. The reality is, Joni has not been good here. Maybe with a bigger budget she could hold on to a few more players, but in those conditions, maybe you could be a better coach as well. Trev will find a hungry up and comer coach like he did with Bucky that is determined to make it and make a difference. Joni is a great person but she just didn't make it happen here. She accepted the job knowing the limitations that you are referring to, but the reality is, results matter.

I feel like you have a hot take here. No one is discrediting your opinions that there is an NIL problem, we agree. There are a lot of red flags with Taylor. Look at scheduling, look at roster management, look at injuries, look at in game coaching identities. This team doesn't have an offensive or defensive identity outside of Ny Pryor being the 5-4 star she is. Without her, this team is looking at a winless SEC season.
