Yeah / he was a Bjork hire but I guess that's the trend. Up and comer for non rev sports? Although, better watch out. Volleyball is about to create some revenue.

No doubt it'll be budget hire. I think soccer and WBB are now on the back burner. Only so much money to go around and I don't see us supporting wbb to be elite again
Especially with what Morrison has done with volleyball. I'm down to end the program and give all funding to volleyball. Make us a volleyball school
We're not dropping a sport.
We are throwing good money after bad. Time to turn off the spigot and regroup. This program has been nothing but one failure after another. Give the few that can an opportunity to transfer out and honor the scholarships of those that want to stay in school. Clean house and start building for next year.
I see where Jada Malone is doing well at Tech. Playing about 16 min a game and had a high of 14 points in a win over Arizona. Also, Tech beat Baylor for the first time in 31 tries this year. BTW, Tech is 16-0 so far this year. To think she spent 3 years being mired in A&Ms program. we could have used her this year, but I am glad she is on a winning team at Tech. As hard as that is for me to say. There must be something dreadfully wrong in the A&M program.

This is difficult situation because I want to support the team and athletes on the team. Even with our miserable record, I tune in and am so hopeful with each game. I'm just as excited to watch WBB as I am MBB, WVB, WTT, soccer, football, etc. I understand that they are representing this university, but I do not support the results provided by this coaching staff (especially with what they are being paid). You cannot win 11 out of 50 conference games ANYWHERE and keep your job? Her conference winning percentage is 22%!!? To me, \ Joni appears to be the acting team manager. She patrols the sidelines but, in any huddle, or timeout it doesn't appear she's even involved in the conversations. She's allowing her staff to sink her battleship; at this point I think they are just incompetent. They are low energy, in awful shape, and I'm beginning to wonder what they do during practices other than sit around and talk about their feelings?
For what it's worth, I have no idea what the athletes are receiving in terms of compensation (if anything). In my (our) day, a free education and books and room and board were enough. Now? Not so much. But, at the end of the day you cannot win in the SEC with one or two players. I read a comment on X (if it's one of you, then kudos because I think it was very accurate). This team is looking for someone to lead them or step up and stop the bleeding, and there is nobody on this squad or on this staff that can do that. Ny can only do so much; Fats had a good game, but she plays somewhat like a bull in a china shop; Lauren played well, but each of the 3 got into foul trouble and because of that we were just doomed.
What a frustrating last 4 years. As much as we all like Joni as a person, this has not been a good fit for her or for us.

went back and watched the game over, to your point above, on the FINAL play of regulation while the officials were deciding the time on the clock, Georgia coach was in a huddle discussing a play, Joni was away from her team just standing at the scorers table applying chapstick over and over… we then proceed to not even be able to inbound the ball.aggiedrjdub said:

There was also a play in overtime and she's yelling at Pryor to run a play and Pryor doesn't acknowledge her and Joni just throws her arms out and looks away…
Her body language has seemed to be a bit improved from last year, but at times it's still awful. You're getting paid millions and you can't show any emotion. If 99% of coaches are in a scoring drought as such, they're animated like their life is on the line. At least shes clapping and not standing with her arms crossed like most of last year, but body language from your leader is so important. It spreads. That's why we have girls walking around, rolling their eyes at refs.
There's two girls playing like the game means something to them.
And Tech went from unranked to #17. Definitely could have used her this year but at least she got out of this dumpster fire.
