Rivalries in Texas just don't really resonate nationally. When CFB was strictly a regional sport, that was fine. But when the game started to become more national in scope, conferences with cross-state rivalries became more interesting to the larger CFB audiences. Tennessee vs. Alabama was more intriguing than Texas A&M vs. Texas. The SWC died as a result. Additionally, the Big12 was at a bit of a disadvantage with 4 teams in one state and only one of them with any broad appeal (Texas). Games like Alabama vs. Auburn or USC vs. UCLA attracted far more interest than A&M vs. Tech or UT vs. Baylor.

So this clamoring for UT and Tech to play each other is really only coming from one side. Oh, and also from off-season content creators.

I don't know anyone who thinks this game might actually happen. There's no realistic clamoring. This is a result of Sark shooting off his mouth and winding up with his panties down around his ankles.

Really, it's Baylor, UofH, and TCU who should be calling out sippy since it's the conference schedule Coach Cutty is sheeting on. Would love to see them harangue sippy into some sort of round-robin scheduling of their old foes.

lol. Tech needs to pay off acu and tx state, stephen f, wyoming, its September opponents through 2028, and pay off our OOC ohio st buckeyes and michigan and notre dame, our Sept opponents.
Tech would need to pay us off for going out of our way... they maybe should have scored 1 point last year against a ranked opponent outside the big 12. they really need to do the work, and their owner going on tv shows and puffing out his chest isn't enough. They should do simple things like vet their own crooked cheating players... They bring ridicule on themselves. UT didn't construct that weak-ass schedule. Everyone is allowed to comment on their weak ass schedule. and all their ****-ups. It's public information for which they alone are responsible.
We sign Arch Manning. They sign Brandon Sorsby. not our fault. prove you're not foolish on your own time.

Last time we played, Texas beat technical 57-7.

Tech walked right into this. Too bad Tech owner Cody, can't pay off the facts of life and make all the results of their actual bad decisions go away.

I'd be for you paying Notre Dame 15 million, and Texas 38 million, to get on our 2028 schedule and make life easier on us with a more manageable September.. and then you'd have to also buy out Stephen F I guess. or wyoming? Your human ATM Cody has a mouth on him also. He can get all this done if he wants to badly enough. how much does he really want it? He has the spotlight, the butthurt and the checkbook.

You're right of course. They are completely allowed to devise weak schedules. and act like they didn't.
Now they are champions of the baby pool. proudly splashing around in pee pee water.

If Tech spends enough dough they can set up almost anything, but then eventually they have to play the game. And it's okay to talk about it when shortsighted ill-planned ventures backfire.

Gosh y'all can't take a joke.
It's just a wisecrack and y'all flip out. and you've never scored a point in the playoffs. you're barely a johnny-come-lately. barely. the dullest orange bowl in college football history. The game was unwatchable. own that.

We've been playing top competition all season long, forever. Texas Tech ducks top competition until you're absolutely forced into it. all the records and rankings are there for everyone to see. getting to the SEC championship game is very difficult. Hopefully we can make it, and win one. That should get us to the playoffs.

I know our AD will handle this matter professionally. football coaches say stuff.

I actually think Campbell is trying to make sure Tech has a seat at the 64 team table whenever that day arrives by making the womens softball team relevant. Kansas is only known for basketball historically and will not be left out of a super conference due to that.

If Campbell makes the tech softball team relevant it will be really hard due to title 9 stuff to tell them, sorry you and your softball team are out. But if he keeps pulling crap like he just tried to do with the Sorsby situation, then he will be burning many important bridges that might have otherwise voted for tech to be included.

I agree with this, and it benefits Tech to be strong in a variety of sport. I'm sure Campbell knows this. Tech has become a national powerhouse in track and field as well.

All that said, Campbell's wife (Tara) also played softball for Tech, which I think had not a little to do with NIL investments in the softball team.

It's Campbells partners wife that played softball for tech and is the reason they dump so much money into it.
