I think they keep the par 3 course closed for a bit in the morning, but as soon as it opens, I'd go scout a place to plant a chair. I've sat up by 5 green and behind/side of #9. Both were great vantage points. Maybe someone else can offer a better spot to watch.

I'd say get in line for your souvenirs, ship them home, plant your chair, then see the holes you've always wanted to, since I think they close the big course earlier that day. I think the 11th commandment was thou shalt not go to the Masters without having a pimento sandwich in Amen Corner.

Any players already starting to arrive? Envious of you folks heading out there this week. I hope you have the best time of your life! It is such an amazing place.

Any specific advice for Wednesday attendance? What to do before the par 3? And best way to watch the par 3?

I'd get there around 830 to see the players who will play 9 holes on the big course.

Closer to 1130 I'd grab lunch and head over to the par 3 course.

Remember it's alot of people on a small piece of land. And much of the par 3 course is water.

So I'd hunker down some where and let the players come to you.

My fav spot for the par 3 is the ivy hill behind the ninth green. Lots of holes in one if the pin is front center.
And embrace sitting in the ivy….
And then shop on your way out.

Have a great time. Boo

We have tickets to the Tuesday practice round that my MIL won in the lottery. We're going to be in town tomorrow around Noon and are going to try to buy a few Monday tickets in town. Especially with the rain predicted on Tuesday.

Will prices from the brokers go down during the day? Or should we suck it up and buy through someone like StubHub now?

You'll call. But I am 3 for 3 in past years hanging around the gate after 1 pm or so and asking patrons who are leaving if they're done with their tickets and if I can use them.

I've gotten one that way within the first 100 tries.

Just my personal experience.

When do they make the call on if Tuesday is a washout. We're here in town with Tuesday tickets and hoping we can get on property and soak up some drinks and walk the course at least.

They will usually open and then have the course cleared less than an hour or so before t-storms approach. The merch shop opens well before the ropes allowing access to the course drop. My advice would be to get there super early, do your shopping and shipping before the ropes drop, then walk the course as soon as they drop. With the apparent timing of these storms, right now seems like there may be enough time for that.

There's no shopping during a storm. They close everything and boot you off the property entirely

And by early, I believe access to the course opens at 8. But the outer gate cattle call with the metal detectors, ticket checking, etc. opens by 7am if I recall. That process can take a little time as they section people into large groups to facilitate the process. So getting there well before 7 could have you in one of those first batches, giving you time to hit the shop before the course opens. Then you cross your fingers that the t-storms hold off until at least mid-morning. Looks like small chance of rain 8-10/11ish, then storms around 11. So hard to say what exactly will happen since it will depend on when the threat of lightning arrives

Completely agree with this - experienced rain there during the 2017 practice round. If I hadn't done my shopping like DD described, wouldve left empty handed.

Edit: Wrong year

BTW. I didn't go through a metal detector and didn't see a Cel phone on the course.

I was there today, and wasn't sure how someone could get in without going thru a metal detector. I only saw two cell phones all day. One was a caddy videoing his player skipping a shot across the water, and the other was a CBS employee.

The pimento cheese was so overrated. The egg salad was excellent.

Apparently the garden gnomes are a hot merchandise item and sell out first thing each morning. But they will be restocked for the next day, according to an employee we talked to.

Masters Tip: Don't bring your DSLR camera in without a battery. You'll end up carrying a useless weight all day.

I took the batteries out last night to put in my carry-on but forgot in the rush to get the course.

Was there today. Breakfast sandwich was great according to family who had it. Chicken biscuit, egg salad sandwich and bbq sandwich were all very good. Club was very underwhelming. Chic chip cookies were awesome!

Got there at 745 and 1000 cars were already there. To ANGC credit we were through security by 8. Skipped the incredibly long lines at the golf shop at the entrance and bought souvenirs elsewhere on the course. Nice cinch bag for less than $20.

I did see 1-2 iPhones being used by patrons for pictures- how they got them through metal detectors was unclear.

Saw several Ags on the course.

Boo forgot to mention but I'm sure he agrees - you will marvel at how clean, efficient, and well run the mens rooms are - better than Bucees. You will marvel at the efficiency. There's one between 17 and 18 and a larger one by one of the main concession stands. Whether you are "standing at the front nine or playing the back nine" you just gotta experience it.

That doesn't narrow it down a lot.

Bigag83 did a doodoo at the masters as well! In a spic and span restroom. I was in the front nine!

I got treated right, my buddy got us hospitality wristbands to the AT&T house. We were shuttled in, drove down Magnolia lane and Dropped off.

They just scanned out tickets at the house.

This had to be one of the greatest days ever. Exexpt the day I got married (for wifey) and the birth of my three children.

To say the place was spectacular in an understatement, you were actually waking on "greens" that you could putt on. Hardly a pine cone in sight and $5 beers. Ahem, not to mention the hospitality house….,

Only thing that will top this is; next year's national championship!

I was very impressed with the entrance there and how security was handled. I thought it was a great setup with so many lanes available.

Parking was great. We got there early enough to get in the free lots.

And Monday was such a perfect day weather wise. The next few days are looking pretty wet.

Just got a call from a buddy -- his brother's father--in-law had some medical problems and can't go on Sunday as planned. My buddy is getting to go in his place.

His bro's FIL had some complications from heart surgery and was spitting up blood and had to be rushed to the hospital.

Some people have all the luck.

How's that conversation between the brother and his wife go? "Really terrible about your dad. So……about Sunday"

Bro's FIL sounds like a cool dude -- I would imagine that he probably issued instructions that the tickets shouldn't go to waste. FIL is doing fine now. Obviously would be a different situation if he was in really bad shape.

Went today for first time, was in the first group that got in when they opened the gates at 7. Hit the merchandise shop and got things shipped before 7:30. Walked the course for a couple of hours and happened upon Tiger on the putting green, and followed him to the range. Was at the range at 10:55 when the alarm went off, and we were all kicked out. Still a wonderful day.

Day got even better when they announced Tuesday practice round ticket holders will be able to buy Tuesday tickets for 2023 if they wish. Nice to already know I will be back next year.

It's online.

"The Augusta National Golf Club says patrons who bought tickets for Tuesday's practice round will be guaranteed the opportunity to purchase tickets for the same practice rounds in 2023."

I'm coming in tomorrow and have tickets for Thursday. Can't wait. It's my first time and this thread has been super helpful. Are Apple Watches allowed? I'm looking forward to no cell phone but trying to decide if I need to get a cheap watch or can use my apple one.

Was out there yesterday as well. 2nd trip for me and 1st for my dad. We will be back next year. Saw several Aggie hats walking around. I didn't make it to the store before the rainout. But got plenty from 2019 to hold me over.

Apple watches are allowed, but using them to call or text is not
