When/where did you see that todays badge holders will receive them again next year?

It's online.

"The Augusta National Golf Club says patrons who bought tickets for Tuesday's practice round will be guaranteed the opportunity to purchase tickets for the same practice rounds in 2023."

It is online where? I am having trouble finding it.
Nothing would make me happier than starting to plan next years trip right now.

Judging by today's forecast, they are going to be reissuing Wednesday's too. That's gonna make 3 straight Masters where winning the lottery is more impossible than normal

Judging by past decisions, I don't think they would have normally reissued Tuesday. But most of these folks were holding tickets for 2020 and just now got to go. So I'm curious if this is an allowance for that, or a more permanent policy course correction from some of the recent rainouts where they hosed people. Especially that 2017 Wednesday round

Agree. I've seen them not issue that credit when the gates were only briefly opened.

As best I can recall, they kicked us out around 10:30 that Wednesday, re-opened around 12:30, then kicked us out again for good about an hour or so later.

That happened to us on Monday of 2017, and we didn't get a make up option.

Getting in yesterday right at 7a made a huge difference and I made sure to move quickly as I was thinking we would be getting the storms about 1. Next year is a bonus as I can then focus on those areas I did not spend much time this year.

Awesome guys. Thanks!
We won the lottery for 2020 and covid screwed us.
We've been waiting a long time to go.
Saw the weather for Tuesday and canceled our Monday tee time to try and scalp tickets to get in Monday.
And I'm glad we did! Paid $250/person and got in at 1pm. Walked in the North gate and the first person we saw chipping was Tiger Woods. Stayed till the made us leave Monday.
Got in Tuesday but didn't get much in before they blew the horn.
Now I have a year to explain to my wife that this "once in a lifetime trip" is actually happening again!

Can you share details on how you found said tickets for Monday? Someone selling in parking lot or something?

I posted this earlier on this thread ...

I am 3 for 3 in past years hanging around the gate after 1 pm or so and asking patrons who are leaving if they're done with their tickets and if I can use them. I've gotten one that way within the first 100 tries of asking.

Just my personal experience.

Personally, I wouldn't risk buying from a scalper off the street. People get arrested for doing that. And they're banned for life.

For future planning, on Wednesday I see where OP said play must stop on the big course at 2PM. I'm assuming that mean no patrons as well on the big course? Or are you still able to walk the course?
Quinn

You can walk the main course until 7pm or whatever time they kick everyone out

Flight left CLT almost 3 hours late. We got to AGS and turned around due to weather. Now back at CLT and don't know the plan. At other ags on this flight?

No - but I would just get off and get a rental car to drive.

I was blessed with a last minute ticket and ability to go for the first time this Monday. The course and experience were simply amazing! Sadly, I missed this thread before going. But, thankfully the guys I went with had been there before and we did most of the suggestions from the OP. Like the OP said, the elevation changes were intense and the greens and slopes around the greens were jaw-dropping. The TV coverage just does not do justice to depict the above and the conditions the players have to deal with.

And the fairway turf?! The grass that the spectators walk on to get around the course was of better quality than most of the courses I have been privileged to play on!

Finally, I was lucky enough to see Tiger tee off on #1. But while it was great to see him and his group tee off, the best thing is that he took at least 1/2 of the people in the area around the main concession stand and pro shop with him so we could actually get in to both without fighting through the crowds at either.

Wife and I are going for the first time Saturday with a couple we met on our honeymoon last April. They're from Augusta and get 4 for every day of the week and like taking 1st timers. They may be my new best friends!

It was my first time to Augusta and I was surprised how accessible tickets are.
Yes, you are not supposed to buy/sell passes. I believe they say 2700 ft from the premises. As soon as you exit I-20, there are ticket brokers up and down Washington Rd.
We could have paid $800/pass and gotten in by 10am.
We waited and bought them for $250/each at 12:45.
If you buy a pass that has been used for entry twice already, you're screwed. No way of knowing but I took a picture of the guy who sold them to us, his truck, and his license plate.
Lots of people meet up in the Hooters parking lot to buy/sell passes.
Now this was for a Monday practice round. Not sure how available passes are for tournament days.
I chatted with a local inside and she said there's no need to pay for a pass. Just hang out outside of the exit and ask people for their pass. Totally legal if they give it to you for free.

Made friends at the gate and we all shared a SUV with a driver for the drive down. It was a blast.

Can you carry in folding chairs? The rules say no "armchairs" but I'm not clear what that means. All the ones that people had set up seemed to be the green "masters" chairs from the pro shop,
Are you required to buy them onsite? Can you bring in masters chairs from the previous year?
DannyDuberstein
How long do you want to ignore this user?
AG
They dont have to be Masters chairs. But they cannot have arms. Most people don't own arm-less camping/tailgating chairs (where you gonna put your beer?), so buying them onsite is the norm. You can bring them back year after year. They also have a convenient name tag holder
DannyDuberstein

I think they are something like $30 onsite, so like many things there, it is also a fairly cheap souvenir that you may get some sort of use out of again

My parents use their chairs at every grandkid sporting event.

Thanks. If I ever get the chance to go back, I'll make it a point to grab a couple of those and park down at one hole and not walk myself to death.

Just wanted to say a quick thanks to Booradley for all the info. I was lucky enough to be there for the Thursday and Friday rounds and I'm positive it will be a trip I'll never forget.

We went ahead and did the chairs, and honestly glad that we did. Thursday we planted them in the little patron triangle between the 13th green and 14th tee box. Friday we were right behind the 12th tee box with a great view of the 11th green. Planting the chairs was a fantastic way to be able to walk and see the entire course while spending a good chunk of time on other holes, but being able to get back and have saved spots with a great view before the big groups rolled through.

Rinehearts was a hit as well. Went there after Thursday's round and got the fried shrimp. Was so good we had to go back Friday as well, even though it was pretty damn chilly outside Friday night. Briefly met a few ags there Friday (imagine they were posters here) but didn't have too much time to stop and talk.

You always hear how incredible it is to get the opportunity to visit Augusta National and see the best in the world play the masters, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Who knows when (if ever) I'll be lucky enough to get my name pulled in the lottery or invited by a friend again, but I'm already anxiously waiting to get back. Really hope that all of you who haven't been yet will get the chance one day

If a Tiger fan boy such as myself wanted to try and follow him for his entire round, what would the logistics look like? Are there any pointers, shortcuts, or areas to avoid?
ddub96
How long do you want to ignore this user?
AG
In my opinion there is almost no way to really do that for an entire round due to the massive crowds. That is assuming you want to see anything. My suggestion is find a spot to go as soon as the gates open and put your chairs down. My favorite spot is #12 but 2 and 7 are excellent as well. Other option is be several holes ahead and park it against the ropes.
McGibblets
How long do you want to ignore this user?

Agreed. I think it would be near impossible to follow him on the course and see the majority of his shots. The first time we saw tiger at the masters this week was on the 3rd green while we were walking around checking out the course. I'm about 6'1" and if I was on tip toes and he was in the right spot I could probably see the top half of his head while putting. No chance seeing the ball or hole. I think if you really wanted to "follow" him, you'd almost need to try and do an every other hole type thing (maybe even every 3rd hole), and you'd probably only be able to watch from one spot on every hole. We were able to see tiger a handful of times over the 2 days, but you definitely had to plan ahead and have a spot picked out a few groups before tiger would come through

Agreed with most this. I was in the bleachers at those two locations. If (hopefully when) I go back, I'll do a chair and put it between 11 and 12. The big upside there would be the shade. The bleachers were all in the sun.

Thanks to all for the tips. Was there right when the gates opened at 6:30/7 am on Tuesday for the first time, and hit all the things I wanted before the exit sirens went off at 10:55a. Was stunned to hear I can buy Tuesday tickets again next year so now I can plan to spend more time at some places I sped through.

Our best view of seeing Tiger on Saturday was sitting in the bleachers on the 15 green.

One of my friends just happened to be in Augusta for work and tried this around 2 pm for the Thursday round. He said everyone that he spoke to wanted to hang onto their ticket for memorabilia purposes
