My point is the fact it is unique is what helps with all of the energy it does have. That's just not gonna sustain weekly.

As a sidenote, you really seem to struggle with not personally attacking people that have a different opinion about golf than you. Really impressive. Maybe try switching to decaf or something.
This page alone we had several people including yourself argue that "the most exciting hole on the PGA TOUR" would get old or ******. We'll have dozens of other tournaments including those in Texas try to copy it to no avail. TV contract producers only wish this atmosphere was at other tournaments to liven up the coverage. There's been media articles on the PGAT trying desperately to televise an entertaining product because the fans demand it. People have this on their bucket list and are willing to pay thousands to do this.

Multiple other people responded similar to me and even posted Memes and Gifs. And they're right. Yet you said nothing. If you don't like being called out, don't go for hot takes.

Exactly, there is sort of the hot, popular nightclub aspect to it. When some try to copy a club like that, it just doesn't work. This thing is the perfect storm.

I don't think it's asking much to post different opinions, have different opinions, yet still post with an ounce of class instead of name-calling over a golf tournament format. It's ridiculous. And I'm not the only one whose called you out on this board for it before.

I think it is f***ing fantastic! It's on my bucket list and, frankly, I am more likely to check this one off than spending a day at The Masters (although that one needs some serious consideration soon, too).

It is absolutely a one-off, cannot be copied by other tournaments, and it shouldn't even be tried. It is what it is because it grew organically, not because some marketing department decided to make it happen. Rather, someone was smart enough to realize that a cool event was naturally developing, and decided to let it run rather than cracking down on those having fun and making them conform to traditional golf etiquette.

I think it's great, too, that the players (or at least, many of them) revel in the atmosphere of #16.

Then I guess we'll have to agree to disagree like you claim to represent.

Your point of it being unique was valid at one time. I hope that it becomes less and less unique because the PGAT comes off as the boring, stuffy place. Which is one of the reason it's really struggled with younger demographics. If pointing out that people complaining about 16 at WMPO when the PGAT expects people to pay to attend their supposed entertainment events as a miserable Debbie Downer outlook, then so be it. That's pretty mild and something I'm happy to tell anyone in person.

Because that definitely matches the whispering on the course, holier than though persona the PGAT has personified for years that has turned lots of people off. Including players that would rather be in bed with the Saudi's. Your dramaticism on it is clutching at the pearls Bushwood Country Club.

I hear what you are saying and think WM is one of the best tourneys each year. I think where we disagree is what someone else said a few posts above. The WM became what it is organically and the tour was smart enough to lean into it. But trying to replicate it, even if they could, deminshes exactly what makes it so unique and special. It is such a hot ticket because of it's one of a kind. I agree that the PGAT could generally loosen up and encourage a more fun, fan-inclusive atmosphere. But there is only one WM which is exactly what makes it awesome.

Some tournaments have had an awesome party. The Pavilion at the Nelson was badass, and like the WM, it grew organically over time. Tons of alcohol, absolutely loaded with hot girls, and in time they incorporated live bands after the golf ended. The move to Trinity Forest messed that up because of the location. Again, there's a big element where some of this is dependent on a variety of circumstances and has to somewhat happen on its own

Instead of all of the back and forth, I'm still waiting on an in depth review from Broncos on his first experience.

I've been to both the Masters and the Waste Management and they're on opposite ends of the golf spectrum but both absolutely incredible experiences for different reasons. You don't have to be in your 20s to enjoy the WMPO like some seem to think. As mentioned, the atmosphere, scenery, and overall great time cannot be beat. This year was probably a lot pricier with the Super Bowl being in town, but any other year it's still fantastic.

While the party atmosphere is quite a few notches down from the WMPO, I'd recommend the Dell Match Play in Austin to anyone who wants to go to a really fun tourney. Especially since this is the last year they're doing it at ACC. You get to see all of the top ranked players and it's a good mix of a party vibe with a great golf crowd. Wednesday=Friday are the best days to go since you get to see the entire field. Even better if you have access to one of the skyboxes on the back 9 along Lake Austin. They've got a really fun Grey Goose tent with public access behind the green on hole 11 with a porch to watch the players on that par 3. I have been to this tourney 4x and a few years back this was the first time I got to see Tiger in person prior to the 2019 Masters.

In depth review will be coming in a few days. In short, it's already been decided that we will be back. TV doesn't do it justice.

I am waiting on pins and needles to hear the feedback. My days are filled with problem-solving to ensure this event moves as smoothly as possible, maximizing enjoyment and safety simultaneously. There is a rumor that unofficially, we had more people on Saturday than the Indy 500 draws. Not sure if true, but it sure felt like it out there.

Where to begin...

I'll start by saying that we are definitely planning on going back next year. What you see on TV and hear from everyone hear doesn't do it justice. Not only are there great opportunities to watch great golf (even with the huge number of spectators - you will see some of the best people watching around).

Saturday - Due to poor planning, we went with General Admission. If you arrive later than 10 AM, be prepared to wait. It was chaos to get in due to the number of people. That said, with nearly 300,000 people raining down it went about as smoothly as it could. Once inside, there were few areas where it felt like chaos. We ended up hanging out on the 2 green for a while as we ended up in the front and the big names were coming through. The volunteers and staff were all extremely friendly and all seemed genuinely happy to be there. We had quite a few great conversations with a lot of the volunteers. We learned that Jon Rahm is a true man of the people, he completely embraced the fandom and isn't afraid to use the porta-potty's throughout the course. I feel bad for the folks that had to pee in the porta-potties next to him because you'll definitely get boo'd when you come out. TraditionsPD messaged me and got us into the Greenskeeper area in the late afternoon. Greenskeeper on Saturday is like nothing you'd imagine. It's a mix of watching golf, Chilifest, and a Vegas pool club. It still blows my mind that you have the 18th fairway and a DJ next to each other but they mesh together effortlessly. Again, even with the huge amount of spectators the experience and safety was unbelievable. Surprisingly, with so many people going hard in the booze, everyone was living their best life and happy to be there. We went the Uber route and the ride-share lot was hectic so when we left we ended up walking over to a nearby Marriott for drinks at the bar before Ubering back to our AirBnB from there (I recommend this route if you plan on doing the same).

Sunday - We got there earlier and already had Greenskeeper wristbands. We ended up walking a lot of the course Saturday. We hovered around Rahm and Fowler after watching quite a few groups tee off on 3. We made the unfortunate decision to get beers when Fowler hit his hole-in-one on 7. After walking the course for a few hours we went to Greenskeeper. The food and drinks in Greenskeeper don't disappoint. We ended up spending a lot of our time next to the church pews as we found it the best place to actually watch golf in Greenskeeper. I have to give it to the waitresses as they didn't like you to have an empty drink. Sunday afternoon definitely seems to thin out which was a nice change of pace. We left shortly after they crowned Scheffler and it was really easy to get out of there. We figured it would be chaos leaving but it was the opposite. We walked right out and to lot 3 where we parked Sunday (yes, we had a DD that day).

All-in-all, I highly recommend. We are going to try and get on tickets early for next year. Probably try and go early in the week to catch the ProAm and first round. Hopefully we can get a room at one of the nearby Marriott's next year since we plan on booking welllll in advance.

Thanks again to TraditionsPD! I don't really have any negatives as it was a great experience. Even the chaos Saturday to get in was understandable due to the sheer number of people trying to get in.

Also, you will probably see boobs and some celebrities while you're there.

That's incredible. Never been in Greenskeeper but that sounds like quite a party. Assuming it's on the left side of 18 as you're walking up rather than the right where the Bottled Blonde skybox is? Or is it one & the same?

Did you guys end up watching the Super Bowl somewhere in Old Town?

Greenskeeper sits between the Bay Club and Scorekeeper on the "inside" of 17 & 18, the opposite side of bottled blonde, cove, outpost, and 18 skyboxes.
