I rank them this way....which majors am I most looking forward to watching..

1. The Masters
The Open
US Open
PGA Championship

The Masters has always been the most compelling-because of the difficulty of the course. First major of the year. The greens, almost no rough. Really tests the ability of the competitors to hit to strategic spots in the fairway in order to set up good approaches to very small targets on the greens.

The Open because of the origins and history of the game and courses they go to.

US Open has always had fantastic venues and in the last 20 years have visited some nice publicly accessible courses.

The PGA is my least favorite even though it has of the strongest fields other than The Players.

the masters would be better without having to hear Jim Nantz and the rest of the boring cast. and with feherty gone its gonna suck even more.

You're not going to miss Feherty as much as you think. He hasn't been part of the Masters broadcast since he left CBS in 2015.

He's just a weird dude. That said, the PGA has historically had the deepest, toughest field, while the Masters has the most shallow. That is the one aspect going for the PGA. But regardless, my order is Masters, Open, US Open, PGA

1. The Open - It's different style of golf than what we're used to watching
2. The Masters - ANGC is so perfectly manicured and curated
3. The US Open - Sometimes it's nice to see the pros struggle to make par
4. PGA - It's just meh

No more so than the British. St. Andrews, Carnoustie, Muirfield, Royal (take your pick).... the oldest, most iconic, and generally highly ranked courses on the planet. Not to mention it's links golf, which is a novelty to us.

In fact, having said all that, maybe the course is even MORE of the story in that tournament.

Of the majors (and the TPC), only the PGA is purely about the field/golf.

I'd say the British Open is about the weather

US Open is the course

PGA is the field

The Masters is about the course bit not in same way the US Open is. Fans get to watch same course, same pins, same look every year. Fans know the holes know shots... they know the scoring opportunities and know the leader board can change drastically on the back 9 on any day. The Masters is very unique in these ways and we only get something like it once a year

Facts are facts. Masters TV ratings dwarf the other majors every single year. People love Augusta
Im looking for Ray Finkle.... and a clean pair of shorts. Im just a very big Finkle fan. This is my Graceland, sir.

I'm really surprised more tourneys don't follow the masters' lead and make more pins accessible on Sunday. Really makes for an exciting finish when eagles are in play. Instead, it seems like so many events have pins on Sunday that are tucked 3 paces behind a bunker which virtually guarantees a bail out and lag putt.

1 Masters
2 PGA
3 Open

Two and three can switch place's depending on venue in any given year

4. US Open. Too many bad course setups/mistakes for me to like it. sometimes it's great. Sometimes it's awful.
I don’t say this in a braggedocious way. But it’s true. I’ve been right about everything.

Lee Travino didn't think much of the Masters either. I think he had different reasons than Player though.

More on Player being insufferable. He's just not a golf voice that many in the game seem to respect or seek out.

And all this is without even considering his schilling for the Saudis
