I have none. But play/played regularly with a few that have multiple. Of amateurs that you personally play with, whats the most verified HIO. ?

Mine was a gentleman from Muleshoe Texas
He had 7 verified and his wife had 2

My Father-in-law Denny has 2. I have been playing 55 years and have yet to get one. Maybe next time

I've been playing off & on for 35+ years, and 40+ rounds a year since 2016, am a single digit HC, and have never had one.

I have two.

In our mens game we have somewhere between 15 and 40 that show up depending on the day.

A couple of the older guys are in the mid 20's in aces.

But there are several that are in double digits.

Tell those old dudes that a net 1 on a par 3 does not count as an ace.

My dad had 11 or 12

He traveled and played a lot of golf...at his best he was a +2

High school friend had several. The dude was a pretty low handicap, but had a knack for HIO and Double Eagle.

He holed out unique holes on back to back days twice while we were in high school.
- Tour 18 Humble on the island green with two hole locations in fun rounds (we worked there)
- Brenham CC dont remember the hole, but it was a regional golf tournament and he canned it back to back days

I am sure he is up to 25+ hole outs by now. Incredible ability to put it near the hole on a roll. We usually only played 9 holes for practice, but he put in at least a chip or short fairway shot per 9 ... on way to shooting 42.

I have zero and have just decided i'll die this way!

I've has 2, both within the last 3 years at Georgetown CC. I've been a 2 0 for over 25 years and never had one. Then on a Saturday game day, standing $20 per player in the group to anyone making an ace, I holed a 7 iron. 19 other players in the group and on the cumlative 5 par 3's, my gross score was a 10 that day. I killed it in skin money as well as CTP money. I walked out of the clubhouse that day with over $400 in my pocket after buying beer for the group.

Hole In Ones are 1% hitting a shot the correct direction and 99% luck.

I've had two.

The first was exactly what you want. 101 yard par 3, wedge past the hole, spun backwards, disappeared. It was a great shot, so I put myself in position, but it's still mostly luck. Was plying We-Ko-Pa in Scottsdale with some strangers who wouldn't let me pay for drinks, and no one in the clubhouse gave a **** when the waitress told them their next drink was free. Didn't expect that!

The second was 146 yards, and I hit the part of the green I wanted, but you could only see the top half of the flag. I actually checked the green-side bunker and the rough around the hole. It never crossed my mind that it went in. My buddy walked across the green to help us look and he happened to look in the cup and told me it was in. I told him to **** off and went back to looking off the green.

Long story short, for anyone without a HIO, keep throwing darts and it will happen. All you can do is put it close.

There is a young player from Vegas who's grandfather is a regular at my course. I've played with them and her uncle as a 4th a few times. She is probably the best player player I've personally had in a group and she is like 15. The last round we played I had her at a 68 playing from the men's tees. She hit all but one fairway and 17/18 greens. I asked her on the last par 3 that day how many HIO's she was up to and she said 8.

I think I shot like 85 from the tournament tees that afternoon. It's humbling.

Maybe she'll end up at A&M.

I hate uphill par 3's for this reason. You should be able to see the bottom of the flag in case if an ace.

Zero for me, but have holed out from par 3 distances 3 times. Does that count?

I think I remember last year or so when Tiger had an ace they asked him after the round how many that was and he said 20 or so, but that he hadn't had one since like 2002.

I was happy to have my first last year, and didn't believe it when it happened. I couldn't quite see the hold because of a small hill in the green. My friend said something like "I think that went in" and I refused to believe that so I went up to the green with a wedge and putter in hand because I was sure it must have spun sideways off the green down a hill when I couldn't see the ball as we approached. Had so many times that I felt like it would be really close and only got to the green to be very disappointed.

My two best friends have both been playing since they were ~5 years old and are low to mid single digit handicaps and neither has had one yet. There's so much luck to it.

I disagree. There's a few uphill par 3's in Bandon and on one of them I hit a shot nearly on the nose to where my caddy informed me to. As it hit the green and spun/rolled back down to the "bowl" I don't think I've been more excited and anxious on the golf course to know whether or not it was in. That "what if, did it, how do I respond when I get up there and it's not visible on the green" feeling had me amped for an extended time as I had to wait for my playing partners to hit. They too were pretty stoked to know whether or not it went in.

Now, I will agree that it would be ideal, at least for your 1st HIO to be visible, but I like blind shots overall because at least for awhile you get to think you're a pretty good ball striker, at least, until the reveal when you approach the green.

2 in 3 years on the same hole (15 yard difference, nearly the same pin position). 2.5 months between my 1st and 2nd (different courses).

Been low single digit for 30 years and I have one. It was to a 165 elevated par 3 that is a shallow green (and usually downwind) at my home course. I've probably hit 100+ shots there that I thought had a chance to go in, only to find that not only did it not go in, oftentimes it's off the back of the green. The real kick in the junk is that there is a slight ditch off the back, so as you are walking up after a good shot, you don't see a ball on the green and start to think "did it actually go in?", only to then see it a few seconds later sitting in this ditch 2-3 yards off the back.

So when I finally did hole one there, I had to see it in the cup before I believed it

Also, the great thing about Bandon par 3s (or any course where you really need to play the ball on the ground) is that your chances for a HIO are greatly increased since you aren't just hitting and sticking a green.

I probably have 15+ or so eagles dropped in from 80 - 150 yards over the years.

Zero Aces.

I probably need to play more to make it happen!

I have 1 hole in one

I was practicing and made my 2nd shot on a par 3 for a nice par

My best shot was probably a holed rescue from like 217 into the wind for eagle...it was a blind shot uphill so I didn't see it go in

I've lipped out several and hit a 4 iron thin into the flag, that dropped the ball 1" away. I did have an eagle recently on a par 4 from 140 yds out. I like to tell my wife it was a HOI after my tee shot.

I have no reason to doubt it. I dont know why a 15 year old girl would lie right in front of her grandfather.

One of my employees has 7. But he's a +4

Since I hired him our company has fared much better in golf tournaments. He was -13 by himself earlier this year. Up tees, plus move up on one hole, and one mulligan on a day he was hitting well. Needless to say we won gross and net that day

A young girl playing from men's tees is likely hitting some long irons and hybrids onto some Par 3s that are on line and rolling like a putt. I believe it.

Similar to an old man at my old club that twice had made a HIO on all Par 3s in one calendar year. No idea how many he had total.

Thought I had #3 today. Rolled up to the pin a little hot and bounced off To about 6 foot. Missed the birdie.

Did a toilet bowl on one today. Ended up 3 inches.

Actually came close to hitting the following in: 9 iron cut from 130 to 6 inches, a 54 degree from 90 to 18 inches, and a PW from 115 to 12 inches.

I was trying to teach my son patience w approaches…and inadvertently taught myself. Shot 33 without using a tee and taking 20 yards off my normal distances.

My dad had 13 or 14 before he had to stop playing in his late 50s. He was a professional at two different points in his life, a plus index in between, and played an awful lot of golf.

I'm counting on that 99% luck part to eventually come through for me.

Got my first HIO this weekend. Been playing golf for 25 years, and I was starting to get worried it would never happen. I've been a 6-7 handicap the last couple of years.

Beautiful sunny day, still early in the morning. 147 yards slightly uphill and into the wind. Hit an 8i that landed softly about 4 feet from the flag and slowly trickled in while we watched. I was playing with my 13 y/o son and a good friend of mine (and his wife). The course is also new, and it was the first ever known hole in one on that hole. It couldn't have been a better scenario.

My son and I were not playing very well that day, so I had just finished talking to him about keeping his head up and just having fun the rest of the round. He responded with "sounds good - let's go make a hole in one" … then I hit my shot.

Just keep playing and eventually it will happen!

So let me guess... your son is 13 so he don't drink. Your buddy's wife is a wholesome Christian, so she don't drink... you probably bought a bottle of water for your buddy so your HIO didn't cost you nothing.

I had a hole in one in a 12 man golf outing!!! **** me!
But yes, I did it with my 8 iron.

Congrats!

I must admit I have a mental hang up on Par 3's.

Let's say I have an 8 iron approach to a par 4 and hit it to about 10-15 feet. The next hole is a par 3 and low and behold it's an 8 iron for me. Good memories from the previous hole right? Until I hit a draw about 50-60 feet left of the hole.

Hole outs on par 4's……..I've had dozens over the years. Hole in one…….zero. All mental.
