As long as they don't dig themselves a big hole, these regionals are so up and down. One day a team will go low and the next blow up.

One day at a time.
Current top 5 teams except NC started on easier back 9. Need to finish strong and close the gap and hope those finishing on the front 9 come back to the pack some.

Auburn Region - Vandy and Tenn both struggling 7 back of 5th.
Bath Region - UGA out to big lead with tu in 2nd. Bunched pack with UF at 11th but just 4 back of 5th.

Teams like Furman, NI, Mt St. and even Arkansas can't sustain this. Inevitably they will fall back with the crowd. 3 day tourney so lots of golf to be played. They are in striking distance which is a good place to be after day 1!

Yep.. Furman have already come back 9 strokes from their low. Falling apart some on the front 9.
Kid from UNC shoots 63 with pars on two of the par5.

Good finish at -7. NI and Furman are going backwards. We should end up no more than 2 or 3 shots out of 5th place.
We just didn't take advantage of the back 9 like some of the other teams.

Tomorrow will be interesting. I'll bet Arkansas doesn't have anywhere close to the showing they had today but they've got such a huge lead over #6 they probably are coasting to a top 5 finish.
The Norman Regional is weak, weak.

this is a terrible take. It's golf. Doesn't take much for a couple guys to get super hot, or super cold which can impact a teams score. Just because they are smaller schools, doesn't mean much in tournaments like these.GigEmJake17 said:

The one guy that sucked for Arky yesterday, is -3 thru 5 this morning. Unreal.
Have you watched much college golf? Yes. Teams can get hot for 3 days. But in all the tourneys I've followed this year the general trend of these teams that are not nationally ranked is that they have one or even two days of great play and then fall apart or back to middle of the pack. It's not even a take, I've followed every A&M and other golf tourney this year and have witnessed it much more than one of them staying hot.
Arkie didn't even make match play at the SEC Championship. Crazy what they're doing.
being 4-5 shots back is nothing. anything can change. Team golf is amazingly streaky
