this one was SOOO much better. prior three matches were terrible, this one was pretty good, even if tiger can't hit a green with an iron. They gotta figure out a way to keep these matches closer like this. I think the hammer needs to reset each hole so the team down always has it available. that's how i've always played hammer... its a new hammer on each hole, first person to throw it then gives it to other player to hold and possibly hammer back (but that wouldn't really work here cause playing a hole for 4 points isn't workable in this situation, so maybe that's why they have it travel hole to hole). Anyway, glad they finally had something worth watching.

That was great last night.

We got good golf, hammers everywhere (including fans), and competitive juice.

Last nights match definitely showed its potential. I'll definitely keep watching.

Tonight was good. I was able to follow it better. I think they cut out some nonsense or something. Seemed easier to follow and more like golf. Anyway, I enjoyed it tonight, despite the ass kicking.

I just can't get in to this. Tech needs lots of tweaking. They're hamstrung using the Fullswing launch monitor due to Tiger. Much more accurate devices on the market. My golf spy had a good breakdown if you can check it out.

Eeesh, didn't realize they were using the Fullswing LM. You would think they'd want the best of the best considering unlimited budget and data accuracy needs.

I thought last night was kinda meh. Not one hammer thrown and pretty much another blow out (LA team is pretty salty).

They've got to find a way to get the crowd involved more. Crank the music or something because it's just too quiet and boring.

There's not really enough crowd to get going.

Both teams should have a hammer.They need to revamp that strategy.

I think it's their attempt to answer the surge in Youtube golf popularity as much (or more) than it is about LIV. I don't know if they actively discourage their players to stay off Youtube, but it's clear LIV has leaned into it.

Bryson has basically revamped his entire image using his channel. Ian Poulter and Henrik Stenson just did a match against the Good Good guys branded in "Majesticks" gear and on their team channel. Phil Mickelson has now put out a couple of videos playing 1 on 1 against Bryson, Grant Horvat, and the Bryan Bros.

It feels like the PGA Tour brass saw how popular Youtube golf is, saw how players were putting themselves out there more for their personalities to be shown, and wanted a vehicle to try and get more of that out there for their own guys but still be in control of the content. The problem a lot of yall are articulating is that it's half Youtube golf goof around and half competition.

I hope they figure it out because I've enjoyed the product. It just needs to be more intimate and less sportsy. Just go ahead and embrace the "Basketball" nature of it, make it about purses, gambling, and goofing around, and quit trying to act like there are serious emotional stakes. It's not that kind of event and never will be.

Now that I think about it, you're absolutely correct re: the PGA Tour and their players on Youtube. Other than those instructional vids with Tiger and Rory, the only guys off the top of my head I've seen from the PGA play on any Youtube channels have been - Colin Morikowa (vs Grant), Sahith Theegala (multiple channels), Si Woo Kim (vs. Micah), Min Woo Lee (Good Good), Xander Schaffele (BDS), and Wyndham Clark (BDS). Pretty much every superstar on LIV has been on multiple people's channels except for Brooks and DJ, with Phil and Bryson having their own channels.

Just turned it on for the triple header... looks like they heard complaints about the hammer. Seems both teams now have 3 they can use.

Simulator tech still sucks. Never seen so many elite pros miss greens so badly with wedges.

The earlier one was great. Thomas pitched in to tie and overtime was pretty good with Fleetwoods hole out.

Marty is a good journalist, but like with everything else in TGL, is forced.

I think the Hammer rule needs to be amended to having to be thrown on the tee box. Being able to throw it at any point in the hole doesn't make sense to me.

Have you ever played hammer in a real golf game? The whole point is to press your advantage and hammering before anyone tees off hardly ever happens in our group. If you get hammered and don't like your odds you can always concede and move on. The only thing I think they should change is make it like normal betting golf and not limit how many times you can hammer in a round.

Good set of matches today. Was solid entertainment on a quiet day

The changes to the hammer made a massive difference. It can be used to force concessions and/or gain an extra point if the other team faces a 10-15 foot putt to tie.

It also makes it easier to comeback late in the match.

Only got to watch the third match but it looks like they all came down to the wire today. New hammer rule must've been the secret ingredient. Now I just hope they change the tech after the first season.

From what I've seen it's the same green it just rotates and the hole changes location.

I think it does change undulations. I believe there are a bunch of jacks underneath the greens that change every hole but maybe I'm wrong.

honestly no. i've never played with a hammer. it just seems to me like it gives an unfair advantage of someone who hits to 3 feet playing someone at 20 feet. maybe it can be explained better but the person at a disadvantage has no recourse to do about it except lay down and take an extra point against them.

i guess im missing something
