How does the autoputt work?
its circles that can't be adjusted, and outside the second circle is a three putt, so you find yourself hoping you just barely miss a green so you can chip to the one putt circle and save a stroke rather than take a 3 putt. If you enable putting you can adjust the 1 putt gimme circle, but you can't make any adjustment to the 1,2,3 putt areas if you disable putting.

Welcome to most simulator golf setups. It's the same with GS PRO. If I remember correctly Trackman maxes at two putts, but I am not for sure as it has been a while.

On the eye mini lite I've found putting to be reliable

Exactly the same on Rapsodo MLM2Pro except you can set the the 1 putt and 2 putt circle distances to whatever you want. It's auto set to 10' and 30'.

Thank you above on the 20% off tip. I ordered the R50 last Friday and got it Wednesday. Looks like they finally caught it right after I ordered. Had a friend try that evening and it was no longer valid, although he got the 15% "sign up for new customer marketing texts" promotion to work so he got $750 off.

I moved on from my OG skytrak that I bought 5 years ago at the start of covid. My setup is on our patio and a camera setup next to the ball is a must, and this rig is perfect with HDMI to my patio TV. I'd been considering Bushnell, but dropping $3500 for the ball and club data, then still needing a gaming computer and needing 2 subscriptions for $750 per year to unlock GSPro was just something I could not convince myself was worth it.

Findings so far:
- 4 days in, I've found the accuracy spot on for me. Ball flight mirrors my real flight; my misses look like my misses. Not seeing distance issues, but if someone needed, altitude, temp, and humidity can all be adjusted to really dial it in

- No missed shots or chips so far, or any "wtf?" shots

- Garmin seems to be taking all the feedback they are receiving and are sending down software updates

- HTH is a big upgrade from the R10 version and I love all the course options. Good to know GSPro is still an option, but not feeling the need to do it. If I do, at least no $500 monitor subscription needed like bushnell

- I have putted on a lot of sims and don't care for any of them, so I'm not your guy for that review. I do like how the HTH auto-putt works although adjustability would be a nice feature. That said, I don't know that I'd adjust it. But I bet they add a software update for that

The beginning of mine. Ordered a "kit" from GolfBays.com

They were great to deal with and easily accommodated some upgrades I wanted to the screen and the mat. Ordered the projector and launch monitor from them as well, but those have not arrived yet. Added some acoustic foam and black out curtains (both from Amazon) to the back wall to help with noise and blocking out ambient light behind the screen.

Projector - BenQ 671ST
Launch monitor - Garmin R50

If you'll have other people or kids hitting in the sim i'd suggest an additional side net on the right to even with the hitting matt or a matt on the wall to protect the sheetrock.

It happens.

I have some padding that I'm planning to install, just haven't had a chance yet. Good thought for sure! And not just for the kids…I'm prone to find the snap fade every once in a while too

What is the size of the room? And the dimensions of the enclosure please?

I have a similar room look so I'm curious if our situations are similar .

Did you go with a specific software package?

The room is 14x20. The vertical walls are 8ft high and the tallest part of the ceiling is 12ft. The enclosure is 11'10" x 8'2"

I went with the Garmin R50 which has its own built in software pre-loaded, but also will allow you to download and use E6 or GSPro.

Keep in mind that if you want to run GSPro with the R50 you'll still need a pretty decent gaming computer.

Currently planning to use my son's gaming laptop, but that could change if we end up needing a dedicated unit.

That's what I used and it was fine. I have the same projector and it didn't need a beast of a computer to run every course at max settings on 1080p

It's been interesting learning the technology side of sims. It's not my strongpoint even though I worked in the world of 3D modeling and construction drawing software.

When I was researching the common theme appears to be recommending a much more higher level of gaming system / video card (and cost) than appears to be needed.

Same for Rapsodo / Square / R50 internal systems to run the high / max settings. Most things said you needed a gaming tablet or a high end IPad. And my Samsung S23 Ultra phone powers the high setting of the MLM2Pro without any issues.

That's my experience as well. I got a used gaming laptop w/ minimum specs and haven't had any issues running E6 or GSPro with my skytrak.

Not running anything in 4k, but also don't have the need

Garmin R50 showed up today, but still waiting on the projector. Played a quick 18 holes at the course I grew up on with Home Tee Hero, and thought it was really cool. I haven't had a chance to dive into many of the features of it just yet, but was impressed with the overall simplicity of setup and ease of use.

A couple of things I took away from my limited use tonight:

1. Golf balls with markings on them (specifically triple track) don't seem to work well with the R50. I was getting some really weird readings and spin rates fairly consistently. Switched to a ball with no markings and that seemingly fixed it.

2. Don't play in white socks while using R50. It thought my big toe was a ball and kept trying to get me to move the "ball" into the monitored hitting area.

3. Chipping and putting seem to be really accurate with this. At least as accurate as you can be with them. I actually think it works better for short game than some of the overhead launch monitors I've used that cost 4-5x what r50 does.

4. Setup was super simple. I did have to do a software update before it would work. Couldn't get the sensors to turn on. Updated the software and it worked great. Guessing maybe it's an internal mechanism that prevents you from using it until the latest software is installed? Updating the software was super quick. Think iPhone prompts, but only about 5 minutes to download and install.

5. The speed of the processor on the r50 is awesome. Guessing it might slow down some when the RAM is occupied, but it was super fast right out of the box.

6. The ball impact video is cool, but I wish it had a wider field of view to see more of the attack angle and launch, but that's nitpicking.
