1) Masters
2) US Open
3) Ryder cup
4) Open Championship
5) US Am
6) Players
7) PGA

If someone wants to say the Ryder Cup isn't a tournament, so be it. I just can't get excited about sitting down and watching a full day of this tournament especially on the weekdays.

Wow. All the early round guys openly complaining about mud balls when hitting fairways. That'd explain why these top level guys were spraying it all over.

I watched main feed and then Big 3 group on the computer. I had sound on but not listening in too well. Never really heard anything about the mud.

I'm not sure I agree with the forced pairing of Sheffler, Schauffele and McIlroy... seems possible they were caught up in playing against each other rather than playing the course...which I can understand that. I would (and the PGA/Tour should) prefer to see them paired on Sunday based on results. Sabotaged them for some Thur/Friday TV ratings.

I respect that and respectfully have a different take. Play it as it lies, everyone is playing the same conditions. They are the best players in the world, adapt the shot.

Except everyone isn't. The afternoon guys got a much dryer course. When mother nature rolls through during the day I totally get the luck of the draw. But apparently this thing was a known swamp/sponge pit all morning before guys teed off and they stuck with the decision. Didn't see crazy spraying shots from the fairway in the afternoon like I did this morning.

I agree PGA of America probably didn't want a birdie fest and screwed over the morning groups.

I completely respect that the morning and afternoon are different, here is my issue

Yes Vegas and Davis were afternoon time. That said 3 of the top 5 on the leaderboard board played the wetter conditions and got it done. That's golf, deal with and play it as it lies! I get not everyone agrees but when someone say AM vs PM and PM was better, but 3 pf the top 5 played in the "worse" AM conditions it sort of diminishes that "they are different conditions" argument.
