Was watching the featured group feed of Lowry/Sheffler/Morikawa.

Lowry dropped 2 big F-bombs in short order when he yanked his tee shot left on 11.

I absolutely understand how he may have missed it real time, but I don't see how he can think there is any doubt on video. Kind of surprised how close and sloppy he was with that practice swing given how much debris was around the ball

Just saw that Cam Smith is the only player to play in all four majors and miss the cut in all of them.

I've always liked Cam, but he's never made it a secret that he likes living his life more than golf. Seems the LIV money really put him on cruise control.

I would say DJ and Cam took the money and checked out. Bryson, it seems to have actually helped. Rahm, I agree it's thrown off his competitive spirit. I think they've also had a LiV event the week before every major so it's probably thrown off his preparation as well. Everyone else is basically on the same trajectory I think they would have been on regardless.

If I am understanding the rule correctly, if he didn't see it happen with his naked eye in the act of it happening, then it doesn't constitute a penalty. Basically they wanted him to say he wasn't looking down when he swung or that he was but didn't see it move. He admitted that he was looking down but didn't want to fight the fight that he was looking down and didn't see it move. I honestly think its crap that that zoomed in TV camera angles can bring about a penalty that no one would have been aware of otherwise. This is of course assuming that Lowry didn't actually see it move, which I believe he didn't otherwise he would have called it on himself to begin with.

I think the rule is the ball movement has to be seen with the naked eye (as opposed to a zoomed in, slo-mo HD shot), but it doesn't have to be the player's eye. The ball clearly moved during his practice swing. Looked like he contacted a brown stick that his ball was resting on.

I agree that it sucks that the guys on TV get scrutinized by literally everyone and everyone else is on the honor system but not sure there's anything to do about it. Just gotta look at the brightside. If you're always on tv, you're probably making a lot of money.
