Watching on TV, it looks like the crowds are pretty sparse.

Seems like Friday and Saturday are always busier out there

I don't know anyone could not like or root for Gary Woodland.

Hopefully he can take the momentum and play well at Augusta.

I heard on the broadcast that out of the past 95 or so PGA events, Justin Rose was the only guy 40+ who had won an event, until Gary. That sort of thing is pretty normal in most sports, but it feels like golf always had a few old guys still at the top of the sport. Perhaps that has shifted now with the increased focus on athleticism.

I'm amazed that Woodland is leading driving distance to this point… impressive at 41.

Looked on TV that there was a lot of dead or dying grass in the fairways. Did the grass had some sort of disease? How did the course look in person?

It was over-seed (winter/rye grass) that is on it's last leg.

The course looked and played great (as long as you're a bomber).

Just came here to say it was cool to witness the support from his wife in person. My brother and I went on Saturday and noticed a woman standing off by herself about halfway down the hole watching the players drives land. We commented on how she looked like a young Cindy Crawford and that is was interesting to see a female golf fan just casually observing a tournament on her own. We kept seeing her as we followed his group and assumed it had to be one of the players wives and then a quick google confirmed it was Gary's.

She was away from the cameras, away from people, and she had his back 100%. He had a lot of fans out there but she was clearly his biggest and I'm sure he felt that support.

It's been warm this spring so the rye grass is dying earlier than normal

Have always thought that first hole at East River 9 with that look at downtown at night was pretty cool. Off topic but have been told the East River 9 folks bought a property out in Katy and going to build another par 3. Not sure if true but would be cool.

Not Katy, but the Woodlands.
