Who cares? The fans don't. And the pga tour surely shouldn't give the Liv guys a sweetheart deal to come back bc the pga tour now pays out alot more in prize money. A $1 million dollar fine isn't even a slap on the wrist. It's a pat on the back.

I honestly don't watch less golf now and none of my friends do either. That's anecdotal but the pga ratings certainly aren't suffering, so I don't think there are many people like you who don't watch much anymore. But the non signature fields are laughable bc of liv and how many signature events the pga tour now has.
If you let them back in with a pat on the back, there is no reason for them not to do the same thing in 5 years if a rival league pops up. There should be ramifications, especially since they turned down the generous offer that was made earlier.

Tour will be fine without Bryson and Rahm moving forward. Based upon ratings, things are going pretty well.

And while this is true I bet nearly every current PGAT player is thankful for the benefit LIV provided them whether they will publicly admit it or not. A little competition almost always makes organizations grow, adapt and get better. I don't blame a single player for taking the bag to go to LIV, they were making decisions for them and their people that made it worth it to them at the time.
All of this "path back" "punishment" etc. is just emoting and posturing. Those guys on LIV lined their pockets and by proxy those of the ones who stayed loyal to the PGAT. The PGAT would still be the out of touch dinosaur it was a few years ago without competition.

The generous offer of Brooks Koepka being 4th alternate while Alex Fitzpatrick plays. 5 time major winner hopes someone doesn't show, but a guy who played won a team event with his brother has a full card for 2 1/2 years.

Yeah Brooks could have won that event with Lowry but they didn't. Sure Matt made an insane bunker shot so they could win, but Alex carried his share of the load that weekend with some great golf. Then finished 9th last weekend. Kid can play and was well on his way to earning a card on the DP tour this year.

I just can't believe he would abandon his home countries tour to play overseas for more money. I wonder what his punishment will be if he ever decides to go back.
LIV has had zero impact on how much PGA I watch and I couldn't care less if Bryson or Rahm come back.class of 03 said:

He didn't abandon anything. He can have dual membership on both tours.

Hmm. Dual memberships. Play whichever tour you want. What a concept.

LIV is dead. No reason to keep beating it up for its draconian contracts which mandated that all players play in every LIV event, no exceptions.
