Wow. That ball goes in the water if it doesn't catch that damn sprinkler head.

Incredible luck for the Vol on 18. That should have rolled in the water.

Regionals are May 11-13. Top 4 teams out of 12 advance after three rounds of stroke play. I would assume with our record this year we will be in the Waco regional

Individual players can advance to the stroke play championship if their team does not.

Women's Golf Falls in Thrilling Semifinal Match; Secures Lonestar Showdown Point

BELLEAIR, Fla. -- The No. 4 Texas A&M Women's Golf Team defeated No. 5 Texas, 3-2, in the quarterfinals of the SEC Championship to secure a Lonestar Showdown point and fell in the semifinals to No. 18 Tennessee, 3-2, at the Pelican Golf Club Monday.

"I didn't think we had a lot of momentum going into the front nine," Head Coach Gerrod Chadwell said. "The girls dug in and fought though. If you had told me on the front nine that we would be standing on 18 green 1UP, I would have taken it. We didn't have our best this week, but we still fought to this point and that says a lot about this team."

The Aggies extended their Lonestar Showdown lead to 9.5-6.5 against the Longhorns and clinched at the very least a tie in the competition. The Maroon & White have been to the seminfinals of SECs three out of the last four years.

Quarterfinal Match Versus Texas

The Aggies claimed points with Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio, Vanessa Borovilos and Brynn Kort. Fernandez Garcia-Poggio was first to earn victory with a dominant 6&5 triumph over Selina Liao. Borovilos quickly followed that up with a 6&5 win of her own against Angela Heo. Fernandez Garcia-Poggio and Borovilos lost one hole combined in the quarters.

Brynn Kort was in an all-important match versus the No. 13 amateur in the world in Lauren Kim. The freshman had a 1UP advantage on Kim heading into No. 12 before both golfers dropped their tee shots within 15 feet of the hole. Kort quadruple bogeyed No. 12 in round two of stroke play but sunk the crucial birdie in the quarters to go 2UP on the hole.

Kort added another insurance hole on No. 14 before tying on No. 15 to take a three-hole advantage. The Kingman, Arizona, native just missed her approach on the par-4, 16th hole, but Kim sent hers into the water and opened the door for Kort to take the match after two putting, 3&2.

Natalie Yen dropped her match 6&5 while Sky Sudberry held her own against the No. 4 amateur in the world, Farah O'Keefe before ultimately falling 2UP.

Semifinal Match Versus Tennessee

For the second match of the day, Borovilos did not allow her opponent to see the 15th hole on the course, securing a 5&4 victory over Tennessee's Sophie Christopher. Fernandez Garcia-Poggio also turned in her second win of the day, draining two birdies in the final four holes to earn a 2&1 win over Manassanan Chotikabhukk. Fernandez Garcia-Poggio is now 5-0 all-time in SEC Championship matches. She is tied with her sister, Blanca Fernandez Garcia-Poggio for the most wins at SECs in program history.

Sudberry was the decisive point for the bout, as her and Sofie Engesaeth never got over a one-hole lead on each other the whole match. Sudberry dropped her lead on No. 16 after going in the water, but immediately struck back with a par on No. 17 to take the lead. Engasaeth looked like her approach on No. 18 was destined for the water, but it was caught by a sprinkler head that saved it. The Lady Vol proceeded to drain the birdie putt and ultimately win the match on the 19th hole of the contest.

Kort fell, 4&3, and Yen dropped her match 3&1 to send Tennessee to the championship.

The Aggies await their regional assignment which will be announced during a 4 p.m. broadcast on Golf Channel on Wednesday, April 29.

Not a golfer myself (more basketball, football and running), but does anybody know about a young lady Allie Hensley from Klein Oak, if anything?
Peace for Ukraine!
