My 8 year old Amana Dryer won't start a drying cycle. I checked the door latch to make sure that was good and it seems to be working fine. I checked the breaker panel and the plug into the wall to make sure no issue there. I took off the back panel yesterday to look at the wiring but didn't see anything that stood out (not that I would really know). Any suggestions?

You can take a multi-meter and test for voltage to tell you if you're getting power where you're supposed to and test for continuity to see if certain components are performing as expected (example - start switch is working when depressed).

This is much easier if you can read the schematic (should be inside the panel you opened) and have a little multimeter know-how.

If not, you can post the schematic here, but it could make for a tedious troubleshooting process. If you don't have a multi-meter, you can get a pretty cheap version for household use and they're good tools to have on hand.

Is it a push button start? Sometimes on mine I have to pull the switch out away from the panel. The switch is just a press fit through sheet metal and if it moves back the panel prevents the switch from activating.
