I think the afternoon guys are pretty hardcore stoners. Not sure if CC trusts them to have the spotlight.

Those afternoon guys pay Clear Channel for the air time. They are basically like a radio infomercial. They would have to come up with enough money to pay Clear Channel more than what 760 would make off selling the advertising for a regular show in that time slot. That's not likely since the drive time slots are the big money makers in radio.

I wish they would ****can Pasacrapa. That guy absolutely sucks ass. Taylor is better than anyone this town has heard in a long time. He has also given us Ags our fair share of radio time even before this year.

So does this mean we go back to missing the first hour of the DP Show? If so, that sucks. DP Show is the best sports broadcast out there.

Actually, I think that's a bonus... one less hour of Dan Patrick talk about his brushes with celebrities.

Buying time on a radio station is called "block programming".

I'll also add that drive time is typically when ads are most expensive, but it depends upon the station and their lineup. For example, soft rock stations usually have higher ratings (and therefore ad rates) during the middle of the day rather than during drive time because there are so many people "listening while they work".

Also - on talk stations ratings can fluctuate a lot depending upon which talent is in which time slot.

Taylor has had one guest host recently that I have caught a couple of times that I thought was very good. I wonder if they were doing an on-air tryout. The guy already had a weekend show somewhere else I think.

Pasacrita was fired once by CC around '04 or '05 and then brought back. I always changed the channel when I heard that pipsqueak's voice blast thru my speakers. Annoying.

Sounds like SA sports talk radio is approaching the bottom of the barrel. Nashville has 3 sports talk stations, two of which are decent. The 3rd has an awful signal which can only be picked up within 10 miles of town.

Listening to the final afternoon STSA right now. Took time out to skewer the guy from 1250, who apparently was trashing taylor's family on twitter. I LOLd.

Will be interesting to see who gets his time slot.

Team up Jud with Ricci Ware again. They had some wild mornings years and years ago on the old KBUC. No topic would be off limits and you'd know exactly where they stand on a particular issue.

Generic sports talk coming from another mass-produced radio voice. Local radio has been becoming less and less local for 20 years and this is just another step in that direction.

On the plus side, they replaced Rome with Jay Mohr. I can listen to that for about 10 minutes a week. Definite upgrade.

Also, Wally Pasacreta is not on the schedule. Greatness.

No kidding. He was telling us "how the show was going to work" and talked about the audience (callers) as participants. He said something like "bring it, and have something to say". In other words, "have a take, and don't suck".

I want to call the show. I have no opinions I need to share, I just want to tell him, "hey, rome-y! Thanks for the vine."

I'll actually switch over from Sirius to listen to Mohr some days.

Mohr sucks worse than Rome did.

Is Sheen even in San Antonio? Wasn't the reason Taylor couldn't continue in the afternoon was because the suits wanted a local guy in town for remote broadcast?

Really wish Fox would have gone with the Sklars instead of Mohr to replace Rome.

Google hints at him being located in Modesto, Ca. His last gig was apparently a show with J.J. Stokes (ugh) called "J.J. and The Mouth." Gross.

Basically it's that episode of Family Guy where Brian and Stewie get their own radio show. Weenie and The Butt. You just got BUTT-SLAMMED.

I've never felt compelled to e-mail a radio station before, but I just sent him one. We can only hope this Sheen character is a stop-gap solution.

I'm still holding back judgement on Sheen, but not impressed so far. I have to say, though, I didn't like Taylor at first but now I think he's the best local sports guy we've ever had.

Rome grew on me a little and I liked it when Mohr used to sub for him. I enjoy his new show but could see getting worn out on his schtick.

Can not stand DP. Ok... we get it. You know some celebrities.

BAM I was the same way with Taylor. He gave the Ags a lot of grief early on calling us the Fighting Jerod Johnsons (well deserved) but he absolutely grew into the best host in S.A. though it was better with Jim Bob.

I will give Sheen a chance. We have to as ESPN Radio San Antonio in the afternoon is terrible!!! I hate saying that about Dat but it is painful to listen to.

Scott Ferrall was on 760 years ago (like 1997 or so) when his show was on the old Sporting News Radio. 760 had him on in the late evenings and he was outstanding. Callers would call in and begin their call with a request to Scott to pour 'em a cold one; he'd respond with a sound drop of beer pouring out of a tap.

I'm really liking the midday guys on ESPN. Ari Tempkin and Eric Messersmith? Pretty good IMO.

Taylors morning show seems a little off from his pre-move program. Just not feeling it so far.
