Is there any place in or near the west side of SA to get compost or die for free or really cheap? Back near Houston they charged me 20 bucks a ton and I could just take two big scoops in my trailer. I use it for gardening. Is there anything like that in SA?

City of SA used to grind up people's Christmas trees into mulch and gave it away for free. It was near the Blossom Athletic Center at Nakoma/Satrcrest area. I don't know if they still do this, but it would surprise me if they don't.
