Tyler Voss of Boerne, Texas was one of the crew members aboard the KC-135 that went down today. After graduating high school in 2004 he attended the USAFA has been serving since graduation from the Academy.

May God rest his soul.

Sorry to hear about the loss of 3 brave aircrew.

Seems like an unusual accident. KC-135s don't just blow up in mid-air.

On a side note, I retired from the AF over 20 years ago. I noticed that there was only a 3 man crew. In my day, I remember that there was a 4th crewmember - a nav - on board. Guess GPS systems have eliminated that position on the KC-135s.

Which current airframes still require Navs?

Lots of USAFA/A&M connections. My daughter is the lone Zoomie in a family of Aggies. And her husband was a freshman in Voss's USAFA squadron when Voss was a Firstie (senior) and CO of the squad.

From the Aggie side of our family, "Here".

And from the Zoomie side, "Here's a toast..."
