Touring Kentucky distilleries yesterday and today. Hung out with Freddie at Buffalo Trace and picked a barrel of Weller Full Proof. Going to be a long few months waiting now.
How is it? First time I saw it the Specs rep was pushing it on me so I immediately ran the other direction lol.
Then saw it won an award or two so was intrigued.

Parents came into town this past weekend and my dad was nice enough to bring me Nancy's October bourbon pick from Still Austin. Very good juice!
I had some Blanton's so decided to bring some Elmer T Lee and Rock Hill Farms over to have a little Mash Bill #2 flight. Threw in the Russell's 13 for good measure .

Have had this kit and have taken it on multiple hunts/road trips. Also have the small (500ml) travel decanter, and just got the travel humidor with the XL bottle flight.
For the record, I recommend the XL flight. They came out with it literally days after I ordered the regular lol. Regular is ok but if you plan on sharing definitely get the XL.

IMO the Rock Hill is better than the ETL, but if given the choice for mash bill #2 I would try to find a Blantons SFTB. That one is a different ballgame. Caveat being that I love higher proof stuff.

They posted about it on Instagram promoting their Whiskeyfest in January.
High allocations saved for raffle for opportunity to buy. Every $100 was one ticket. Each store pick you bought was 2 additional tickets.
Could pick one allocation and choice of either Eagle Rare or Blanton's, then whatever else you wanted.
Had girlfriend with me so first trip through I grabbed EHT SiB, the Larceny (this is very good if you have a chance to grab it) and ER. She grabbed the Penelope and Blanton's. Second trip through I grabbed 13 Colony.
Got drawn in the raffle but by that time all BTAC, Pappys, and OF Birthday were gone. Very happy with my haul!

Attendees are treated to a one-pound ribeye steak that each person grills themselves on a giant trailer grill, side dishes and dessert, an open bar with excellent whiskey, raffles, live music, and a goody bag of cigars and cigar stuff (cutters, matches, etc).

I cracked one with my family on Christmas Eve 2 years ago and we killed half the bottle around a fire. Everyone loved it, even the ones who weren't into ryes.
Bought a second one last year and now it's turned into a Christmas Eve tradition. Perfect pour for cool weather.
